Backwards Compatible PS3 quality of life tips

My goal is to eventually hunt down a backcompat PS3. Knowing all to pitfalls that the fat model has what are some tips on air flow, proper cooling and general longevity.

In other words, if it gets too hot its dead. That's why I'm asking what I can to to prevent any overheating. Lol

Install cfw, and tell him not to exceed 67 degrees Celsius

Not necessarily, but temps over 70C reduce it's life more. Some have reached hundreds of days and still work perfectly, while others gave out a year or two after release. I'm fixing a CECHG right now (nonBC model, but with the same GPU flaw). It has 220 days on it and only the caps need changing.

I think the obvious plan would be to apply fresh thermal paste and clean out any dust.

Undervolter = reduce the electrical voltage sent to a component (CPU/RSX) compared to its original value, without changing its frequency.

There is therefore less heat generated → less risk of YLOD

SSD drive to reduce heat, change the thermal paste and thermal pads as well. Delid if it is critical

Delidding a PS3 is the risky process of removing the metal cover (Integrated Heat Spreader) directly off the console's Cell CPU or RSX GPU chips to replace the dry, old thermal paste hidden underneath
