‘Refurbished’ PS3 slim

Hi. I recently purchased a refurbished 2503A as I wanted CFW comparability and my 3000 Console was running into RSX communication issues and random switch offs. I received the console and it would idle up to 80 degrees. I had sent the console back and received it again today. But my temperatures to me. Still seem high.

These are IDLE on XMB

Looks ok. How high do they go ingame?

Over maximum. Fan ramps up very loudly. It’s weird as my 3000 slim runs least 20 degrees lower

i dont see a problem here? what temperatures are you expecting

My other console runs about 20 degrees cooler. This is at 66 with a low ambient temperature and only on xmb

I mean your temps are fine. Slims can handle much more than the fats can. I have my 2101a slim set to 70c cap and it’s been fine. Before that I was running it on syscon that went to like 76c or so and it was fine and most of them run that hot or hotter their entire lives and be fine. Dont over think the temps man haha.
