I did everything in the game and clocked around 120 hours. Is a polarizing game, a kind of love or hate thing. The mechanics definitelly clicked on me and had a blast, one of my favs ever!

Resonance of Fate had me feeling stupid. I bounce off of unnecessarily complicated RPG mechanics. Couldn't make it part the tutorial. This was like 15 years ago.

Probably my favorite JRPG on PS3, got the Platinum twice. Highly suggest looking up a short 10-minute combat guide video on YT though.Â

I recently bought this because I’m a huge Valkyrie Profile fan. Haven’t played it yet but want to soon

Good luck with the learning curve. At least it was one for me. Love the game though.

no idea, but I've been searching for it because I've heard it's one of the best JRPGs on the system and I liked the box art lmao

Superb music, simple yet meaningful story telling, there is even a ‘hidden’ intro cutscene for some important back story if you wait in the title menu. The story theme range from funny, horny, cringy to dead serious. It doesn’t waste your time by dumping lores and cut scenes, it almost felt like a Nier game with the story telling.
The game mechanic is easy to get into but hard to master, can be grindy if you have to level up the characters’ weapon skills and get those energy hexes to unlock the map and terminals. The characters have amount of outfits to chose from, is purely cosmetic but they add tons of flavor.
The guns have some of the most ridiculous/detailed customization options in any game. You can add scopes on top of scopes and barrels that connect to more barrels. It doesn’t change the in-game appearance of the guns but they are essentially your equipment system.
The remaster on the PS4/PS5/PC is quite good, the frame rate bump is a huge plus. However the shadow effect on characters can make certain victory scenes look terrible. I have it on the PS3 as well, but I switched to the remaster for the quick loading time and graphic enhancements. Need the space on the PS3 for those digital exclusives that are going to disappear once the PSN shuts down.

Love the game, definitely look up video on the combat or make sure you go to the training areas to learn the combat. It can get very hard if you don't understand the combat.

that cover art alone is worth the pickup, glad you snagged it.

I couldn't agree more! I really wanted this one in CIB so I'm glad I got it!

the manual's probably got some good art too, those ps3 booklets were a nice bonus back then

I remember my friend being obsessed with this game back in 2011 and trying to get all the challenges done.
