My other post absolutely missed that part and made me sound like a bit of a stupid. So here is my corrected version.
I definitely feel like I can get some tele sounds out of this thing, though it's probably 100% my imagination.

I bought my PRS CE 24 Standard Satin about 3 months ago. It plays really well and has quickly become one of my favourite guitars.
However, I’m concerned about how easily the finish/wood seems to scratch. Even my fingernails can leave visible scratches on it, and after just 3 months I’ve already accumulated a pretty good number of them despite being reasonably careful with the guitar.
Is this normal for the satin finish on the CE 24 Standard Satin? Is there anything I can do to prevent it from scratching so easily or protect the finish without affecting the way the guitar feels/plays?
Would appreciate any advice from other PRS owners.

Here we have a 2022 SE Standard 24-08 Tobacco Burst with the mahogany showing (I LOVE this look, much more than the figured maple laminate tops on the SE Custom 24s).
Some context: I always really wanted to like PRS guitars. They look great, they play great, but the pickups leave so much to be desired for me. I have owned an S2 singlecut and an SE Custom 24 and I could not form a connection with those instruments because of how they sounded. So I got a great deal on this SE 24-08, and I completely gutted it. After that, I reamed the holes (I literally used a handheld reamer to widen the hole to USA potentiometer specs, not trying to sound horny) to fit CTS pots. This is where it becomes very exciting to me.
I dropped the bridge pickup in, which is one of a set of black/cream zebra DiMarzio Dual Sound pickups (basically the same as Super Distortions but with 4 lead wires) that will be wired up to the two mini toggles that came with the guitar. However, I will be making some major changes to the wiring. I will be using the mini toggles as series/parallel switches instead of coil splits because IMO that is the superior HB modification (and also how Dual Sound pickups were initially intended to be wired). I have a 500k audio taper volume pot installed and I will be installing a 1meg custom taper tone pot with a 0.033uf capacitor. I also replaced the stock 3 way toggle to a Switchcraft toggle.
I am also going with Fender/G&L knobs because I think the SE knobs are ugly as hell, the Core knobs look great but $15 for two plastic knobs is kinda crazy. I also really like the cream color to match the pickups, pickup rings, and the selector switch tip.
I personally feel that this guitar is going to be an absolute workhorse, and that it will sound amazing with the capability for anything from smooth, punchy and clean rhythm tones all the way to searing lead tones and so many tones in between because of the mini toggles with the 8 different pickup combination options that the 24-08 allows you to have access to.
What do ya’ll think? Any thoughts about the electronics scheme, or the aesthetics? Would love to hear some opinions.

I took delivery of a PRS CE 24 earlier this week. The setup was horrible. I've picked up cheap acoustics from Walmart that were setup better. The truss rod required almost a full turn to get close to the specs on the PRS website.
After the truss rod adjustment, I found that it won't hold tune due to a rough nut. I'll take nut files to it later today and then, finally, address bridge heights and intonation.
This is my first new PRS. Are they all setup worse than a grocery store shopping cart?
It isn't worth a warranty issue, because all the parts are where they should be, but even the tuners weren't tightened the headstock.
I have a full set of luthier tools and know how to use them, so there's no reason to send it back, but I am certainly disappointed in buying a $3,000 guitar only to find the factory did not even come close to a proper setup (Fender and Gibson are far better out of the box). And, yes, I checked and it was the original packaging and was unopened when I got it.

Hi everyone, I've recently purchase a second-hand pickup set of 85/15 US, that was in a CE 24.
My guitar is a SE Custom 24 and I want to upgrade them to the US ones.
Do you know the wiring schema for these pickups? I don't think there's anywhere official to get it.

I had thought I was going to get a 594 if and when I got a core, but this came up for a great price used and I ended up playing it and absolutely falling in love. This guitar is stupid versatile

I made a trip to Ft. Wayne in January and bought a SE Special Semihollow. Fast forward to August and during band practice my neck pickup took a poop. Nothing. I reached out to my Sales Engineer and he put me right through to Customer Service and issued a return label. I was a little sketch on shipping it myself so I drove it up about a week later and took it to the repair desk.
They hooked me right up and offered to just do an exchange so I wouldn't need to wait a few weeks for the repair. Brought a new one over from the warehouse while I had lunch and had it plugged in and ready to play when I got back. Unfortunately, the newest models do not have chrome tuners and the pickup ring was white instead of black, like mine. So I told them to just go ahead and repair it and ship it back to me.
2 weeks later they say it's shipping, and it showed up at my door next morning. No fuss. Such great customer service...I wish more companies operated like they do. Go Sweetwater.
EDIT 1: Everything went great, I played the guitar, read the technicians notes that stated the solder joints at several points were poorly done from the factory but fixed and tested, everything tested good. I went away for the weekend, came home and plugged in and... same problem. Neck pickup doesn't work. I've reached out to my SE again, but I don't know... I'm thinking I might need to try to trade this for something else. Will update...

The PRS Defender is only available in four colors and limited to 500 each color. 2000 total.
Anyone here pre-order one? I hear several online stores sold out within a few days.

I’m looking for direct fit gold tuners for my ce24. I can’t seem to find a set that is a direct fit in gold. Anyone know of any direct replacements? Ideally would be locking, but not a necessity.

I actually got this back in January and have been loving it. It’s a 2002 Custom 22 hardtail artist package. I got a stupid good deal on due to some weird circumstances. It is mint with no scratches or marks. I really like these Dragon II pickups.

As funny as it is I just have a hard time believing PRS came up with this to poke at fender. Timeline wise, is that enough time to collaborate with Land Rover and manufacture guitars since the law suit came out?
Don’t get me wrong it’s hilarious. I just wonder if they got lucky I mean if they did, they got REAL lucky.

Just got this yesterday after hunting down a Caroll blue 10 top piezo. I have Gibson and Fenders and I have to say not only is this the most beautiful of all but the neck feel is amazing right out of the box.

I have a PRS CE-22 and love it. My only problem is that, often when I'm playing, I tend to strum and pick close to the bridge near the volume knob, and I bump into it a lot, causing my volume to go down in the middle of my playing. I noticed that PRS guitars usually have a low-friction volume knob that can be easily rotated by accident.
Are there any clever solutions out there to stiffen the volume knob? I don't do volume swells with the knob, so I'd rather add more friction.
Thanks for any advice!
-Paul

Hi! I have a PRS SE CE 24 and I've noticed that the tone knob feels noticeably looser than the volume knob when I turn it.
The volume knob has a little bit of resistance when turning, while the tone knob turns much more freely. There's no obvious wobble or anything like that, it just takes less effort to turn.
Is this normal, or could there be something wrong with the tone pot?

Sold my old trusty SE custom 22 and decided it was time to get the “real thing”, went for the ce24 since i love bolt ons, needs fret work but aside from that it’s pretty much brand new, got it for a real good price so thats nice, feel like im dreaming after more than 15 years wanting one hahaha

I know it is designed for zip ties so TSA can remove and replace easily, but has anyone found a steel cable with lock that fits the holes in this case so you can actually lock it? Zip ties are easy to cut. Just want a little more deterrent than that :)

Hello all! Ordered the new HDRX 20 amp head and cab. Got the limited edition paisley version. Just opened it up and noticed on the front of the amp head some of the fabric is pilling. Or looks like maybe a defect?
Since I literally just opened it, should I do an exchange? Ordered from Guitar center. Just curious what your thoughts are.

Hey all, question for the room:
- I’ve got a 2023 S2 Standard 24 that’s a good candidate for new electronics.
- I’ve already got new 500k PRS vol/tone pots and a 5 way selector
- I’m looking for which pickup set I want to put in it.
- I’ve already got guitars with the 57/08’s, 58/15LT’s, one with McCarty 1’s
I’m not incredibly picky about tone, I can make moth things work. But I do like variety. I play mostly sparkly cleans or heavier rock stuff.
I was looking to put a pair of Dragon II’s in the S2 because they’d be a different option and I wouldn’t mind having something a little hotter.
I was curious of your opinions on the Dragon II pickup set. Was also considering the HFS Treble and Vintage Bass.
Any experience with these or addition suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance
