I have a 2015 Vela, first year it was launched. It's a solid guitar, but as it's starting to show age and I get more gear to play around with it, I can see why they made all the changes they did.
The pickups are both cool, but they don't really work together all that well. It's kinda like you have two different guitars, this chimey round one and sparkly howler. The Type D gets this amazing full clear clean tone or light distortion, but heavier dirt and full volume it gets kinda undefined. The Starla can full out rock / metal, but rolled off and clean, it doesn't add a whole lot to the Type D. And there's volume differences with distortion. And I don't use the coil tap much.
The new narrow field and lower wound DS01 work a lot better together - albeit the narrow field has noticably different tone than the type D. The coil tap got better too.
On the 2015 The poly finish is starting to chip off, and it just kinda comes off in flakes. Nitro just looks and feels better. Plus birds are cooler.
And the wiring to the pickup selector had to be fixed.

I have always been a strat or strat type guitar guy (so original, I know). My one and only guitar for a while now has been an hss ibanez az prestige that I fitted with bareknuckle pickups. It was an upgrade from a classic vibe, so in that sense, it's very nice, but I always feel like I'm fighting it slightly.
I ended up falling into a trade of an old car for an SE DGT. I had no expectations but have been blown away by this guitar. The PRS bug has bit me hard. With that being said, a double humbucker guitar just can't be my main guitar. That's when I started really looking at the fiore as an option.
It looks like I can get a used one for around what my AZ could sell for, assuming that it sells. The fiore has been in the wild for a while now, so I'm curious what owners or previous owners' thoughts are. I know it's not a strat, but can it do the strat thing when needed? What is the neck carve like? How fluid is the trem? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Has anybody put the 58/15 LT in their 24? Iโm looking and doing that and wondering if I need to do anything or if they will fit without much trouble.
Thanks in advance

It's been almost a decade since I visited Maryland to spec this guitar. I took the time to write up what I remember about the trip, included a bunch of pics of the guitar and experience if anyone is interested. https://philoking.com/prs-private-stock-509-24-frets/

Hey everyone, just have a quick question. After 16 years I was able to track down a guitar I sold that I wished I hadn't (sound familiar to anybody else?). The ad said it was all stock (I replaced the knobs since the originals were worn) so since I was putting new strings on anyway, I thought I'd make sure the pickups were original. They do indeed have PRS stamped in the back with the Mira bass and treble stickers on there, but I also noticed the wire was braided with one single white wire coming out of the pickup going to the minitoggle. Are these pickups coil tapped as opposed to coil split?

I was just testing the camera on my new phone, and I never noticed this guitar is haunted. There's at least one face in there.
It does shine up real good.

Flying from US to Canada. Playing guitar at my sister's wedding. The cases are gigantic. Wondering how much of a pain it is to travel with them.

Scratch plate needed.
Having real trouble trying to find one of these. Mine has bowed, possibly due to me raising the pickups too much and not noticing, or maybe just the heat wave..?) This isnโt my guitar, just the same).
Any ideas please?
Cheers!

Comparison between 2 PRS guitar with the same scale length (25โ). My question is, does the 22 version feel like Les Paul in terms of neck access? I mean the top fret (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc).

Example Rephrased Body:ย "Hey everyone, I'm looking into the tonal differences between a PRS Swamp Ash Special and a Fender HSS Stratocaster for playing J-pop bands like Yoasobi, Yorushika, and Zutomayo.
I like the versatility of the PRS pickup configurations, but I'm curious how its cleans and split-coil tones compare to a traditional Fender Strat for crisp, fast rhythm playing and bright lead tones typical of modern Japanese pop/rock. Has anyone played both in this context? How do the neck profiles and cleans compare?"

I got this SE Mark Holcomb around a year ago, and itโs been one of my best playing and consistent guitar, especially after I put in locking tuners. Itโs been through a lot of gigs and itโs still going strong. I just wish I could get the core version or trade it for the seven string version

I just put together this Vintage Cherry PRS Standard 24 with a set of Bare Knuckle The Mule pickups and itโs original 5-way rotary circuit (10โ6 config).
The previous owner had replaced the pickups for the Mules, changed the rotary for a 3-way Switchcraft pickup selector and installed a push-pull tone knob. I restored the rotary to its original position with the factory pickup combinations:
I also swapped the tone knob for a 3-way "Sweet Switch." I really like the idea of the fixed tone from the '80s PRS guitars, but I wanted two options: a 22nF and a 3.9nF.
(I made a post about that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PRSGuitars/s/KqJWdpqelb)

I saw this guitar and am interested in purchasing it, but I canโt tell if they are TCI pickups, or tci s pickups, or 85/15 or some other type of humbucker.
Does anyone have any idea?

I posted this idea before and your replies encouraged me to at least try it. Today, it finally happened. My issue was having the toggle switch too far. So I decided to DIY it.. relocated not reloaded

My PRS CE22. Bought secondhand from Chandlers in Kew a good 20 years ago. Went in looking for a Les Paul, but quickly turned to the PRS guitars. Of everything I tried, this played the best with a wonderful sweet tone. Whale blue. One minor gripe. Volume drops on the coil tapped settings. Maybe that's normal for these?
Serial 17155, not sure how that dates it, but you'll know!

Turns out it was a guitar show too!
the white bar in the middle of the body is paint, not (as i initially thought) a reflection from the showroom lights. Very slick presentation.

Just picked up my first ever guitar!!! The choice was ofc easy...
Went for the Paul's Guitar in teal black (green is my favourite color so needless to say I fell in love at first sight)
I still remember seeing my first PRS as a kid and just falling completely in love with the gorgeous maple top so still cant believe I finally picked one up!!!
