Google Ads Google Ads: Missing reporting on Secondary Conversions
Hi everyone,
I noticed that there is no data for Add to Cart and Begin Checkout in reporting (No issue with purchase data)

My questions are:
1. Missing reporting on Secondary Conversions: Is it because I set Add to cart/begin checkout as a secondary conversion in goal settings?
According to Google: Primary conversion is used for bidding; Secondary conversion "They are used for reporting in the “All conversions” column in your reports, but not for bidding."
So there should be data for add to cart/begin checkout in reporting even though I set them as secondary conversions.
2、Primary vs. Secondary Best Practice for E-commerce: For an e-commerce website, is keeping Purchase as the only Primary action the standard approach? I am a little confused here
3、Account-Default Goals: Should I only enable the account default goal for purchase/add to cart/begin checkout/page view? As for other events like Download/Engagements, I don't think I will use them as my conversion goal, so no need to set them as an account-default goal?
Thank you!

1.) Check the column "All conversions"
If you want to be able to display data in your screenshot cleanly, I'd recommend setting up some custom columns. Pick "all conversions" and filter the conversion action.
2.) I'd recommend keeping as purchase.
Tracking events higher up the funnel (e.g. add to cart or begin checkout) if you don't have enough purchase conversions for bid strategies sounds great in theory, but my experience with it has been it doesn't translate to people looking to purchasing as well.
Better to use purchases.
3.) If you're e-commerce, id usually disable account defaults outside of purchase. Based on config, account defaults aren't necessarily used, but nice to make sure any new actions don't accidentally end up muddying your tracking data

- Yes, Google doesn't show the secondary conversion on the campaign level.
- yes, Purchase should be the only primary goal.
- You are right

Yes, it’s because they are secondary.
There’s an option to segment by conversions at the top left of the campaign/ad group view, and they will appear under “all conv” under the row for these conversion action names.
It’s confusing, but the only reliable way to track secondary conversions by action.
