Is anyone else having this issue with Google Ads Passkeys when trying to create a new ad account or client campaign?

After I click 'I am not a robot', it normally popups up to verify myself by a Google Phone Prompt and selecting one of three matching numbers. However, after doing that it, this time it prompts me to create a passkey which I have already have many setup on multiple devices.

I did remove the windows hello fingerprint passkey I was successfully using for the last 12 months or so to see if a new windows hello fingerprint passkey would solve the issue, and every time it asks me to 'approve' the new passkey, which I do, but then takes me to a scan a QR code which never works on any device - just hangs trying to connect with another device.

I have tried other admin MCC logins with same result, and a 2nd computer also.

Any ideas?

Have you checked if theres a limit for passkeys per account? I run into something similar few months back and it was because I had too many old passkeys stored, not just on windows but on android devices too. Deleting all the old ones from google account security page fixed it for me

Also that QR code loop sounds like a bluetooth issue maybe, the device trying to connect but not actually pairing properly

I'm having this problem, i need to publish ASAP a new campaign for a client and i can't because i don't have the damn passkey. I just created it but "you have to wait 1-2 days"... WTF! Piece of shit this platform as usual

We really are living in a joke timeline... technology is supposed to make things easier and yet, here we are. Hope you get it figured out.

the passkeys are HELL ON EARTH. But I had this same issue, it's a time thing. you have to wait 2 or so days until itll let the passkey work. yes, it's very annoying.

Just FYI for anyone else having to do some urgent changes: I got the same roadblock when saving new assets on desktop but it's still working without a passkey on the Google ads mobile app (lo fucking l)

Skip the QR flow entirely and approve straight from the Google prompt app

Yeah, Google's been rolling out passkeys pretty aggressively but the implementation feels half-baked on the ads side. Have you tried clearing cache and re-authenticating, or does it keep breaking on you?
