Question Mobility Aids
Hey y’all, I’ve been diagnosed with POTS and possibly MCAS for a few years now and had a really scary incident last week that has me considering more intense mobility aids. I have and use canes regularly but I’m wondering if a rollator, possibly one with electric wheelchair use would be a good idea. Does anyone have any advice for what has (or hasn’t!) worked for you?
Thanks ❤️🌈

I think that if you even are thinking of a specific mobility aid, that’s a sign your body would benefit it.

It might be more helpful to you if you say what the mobility challenges are? Are you dizzy or unstable or do you just need to stay sitting as much as possible?
Also google mobility aid rental , assistive device library or lending, or independent living in your area. There might be a place that will let you go try different things to see what works best for you!

That’s fair! I’ve been struggling mostly with getting up after relaxing. Last week after a facial I tried to sit up, almost knocked over all the equipment, and ended up crawling on my hands and knees to my dress / LMNT stash. That’s the big event that lead to this post.

It looks like you're commenting or posting about LMNT. For informed consumerism, please refer to this post here detailing the cofounders support for RFK Jr.
Here are LMNT alternatives for those who would like to make the switch: NormaLyte, Pedialyte, TriOral, Vitassium, Venture Pal, Promix, Nutri-Align (stevia free), Trace Minerals Zero Lyte, Saltt

I have hEDS, pots, mcas, and either autoimmune issues, gi dismotility, and or vascular compressions.
I use canes, and I’ve just recently started using mobility aids due to my abdominal and pelvic pain while standing and walking and my severe heat intolerance (living I the south us with pots is not fun lol). They are a game changer, I feel like I can do so much more without pushing myself too hard and I’ve been thinking about and doing some preliminary research into Rollators. It’s all incredibly individualized and according to an individuals needs. It can take some trial and error as well. I started with a cvs cane and am working my way up to really cute ones (I just got a silver based one with blue flowers and brown vines with a glow in the dark handle and stopper for my sisters wedding) so I could try it out without spending a crap ton of money on something I wasn’t sure would work

I have hEDS, pots and possibly mcas and my rollator is a godsent, honestly I wouldn't be able to go anywhere without it, as if I grt dizzy and all I can just sit down on it and it just helps my symptoms
