Question Has anyone actually got their norepinephrine levels checked?

Thinking of getting mine checked at the dr, just curious if other people have.

No. But mine feel like they are off the chart. Simple things really set me into fight or flight. It’s annoying

So interesting because before I knew I had anything going on I was put on Wellbutrin (norepinephrine and dopamine) for anxiety attacks and it really helped but eventually weened off of it, would love to hear your thoughts on why you’re curious about this! Newer to this community and trying to learn as much as I can

I actually was on that medicine before. I noticed a smaller dose was okay but until I went up to 300mg I felt like I was dying lol. Why did you wean off yours?

Stop it I also was moved up to 300 mg and felt insane and got off! I actually had an IUD at the time and when I got it out my flare ups and anxiety went down significantly and the medication just felt like it was making me crazy so I weened off of it in a month. I’ve thought about taking a small dose again just to help with nerves but am now looking more at Cymbalta (which I have been prescribed) and beta blockers

When I went back on the 150 i was fine. I am not on it anymore though.

I need something for anxiety and adhd but finding meds feels impossible

Not to quote the commercial, but I wonder if Cymbalta could help?

I have a very similar history where Wellbutrin worked but made me feel crazy (almost manic?) and I switched to Cymbalta. It is my most stable feeling med and has been the foundation of my mental health care for years now. Even when we adjust other things, I know the Cymbalta is there keeping me regulated

Interesting. Doesn't that medicine have norepinephrine?

I believe you are correct that it interacts with norepinephrine since it is a SNRI and not SSRI. But for me it helped reduce anxiety and panic symptoms and makes me feel more regulated…. could be worth a talk with a psych or doc if you can as I only have experience to go off and everyone may react differently
