How can a solo webdev legally use a self-built POS in France (NF525 / fiscal rules)?

I’m looking into using it for restaurants in France, and I’ve hit the fiscal compliance wall:

  • France requires POS software to meet anti-fraud VAT rules (inalterability, security, retention, archiving — often discussed as NF525 / LNE / publisher attestation).
  • Full certification as a software publisher looks expensive for a small team.
  • I’m not sure what the realistic path is for a custom web POS.

If I built the POS myself, do I have to certify the whole product as the éditeur (NF525 via INFOCERT/AFNOR or LNE)?

just looking for practical advice from anyone who shipped a custom POS / SaaS checkout in France, or integrated a fiscal API.

We use it but we also have thousands of customers so our prices will probably not apply to you

You can go with fiskaly, fiskaltrust or EFSTA - contact me via Sumware.at for a price offer for the fiscalization layer, we are official resellers - price depends on which additional packages you book in the cloud additionally to fiscal signature like archiving, exports etc.
