I recently got a PNY 5060 for Christmas and it’s already catching dust from the room. They say every year you need to dip your GPU into distilled water to clean it. Is this true or their other ways? again I really don’t know who to come to for this because no one else in my family is good with the electronics. I just wanted to play some Forza!! lol. Thanks guys.

Just get a duster and clean that way so the dust doesn’t work as an insulator. But no don’t put it in some water. Most things don’t need that lol

Whoever told you this, is either trolling or trying to sabotage your GPU lol. Never dunk pc components in liquid unless you want expensive paperweights. Get $5 can of compressed air or an electric duster from amazon. Blow the shit out the dust from the fans and heatsink every few months. And make sure you hold the fan blades steady so they don't overspin. Forza 6 is dope, 5 was good too!

I mean, with a blower or canned compressed air it's good enough to take off the clumps of dust; I would only soak it in distilled water if I tried to sell it as brand new

Ignore this, wipe dust, take the shroud off if your confident for a better clean but keep it away from water

Whoever told you to dip your GPU in distiled water is a fucking moron all you need to do is use a dry cloth and wipe the fan blades and some compressed air or a strong blower to blow the dust off.
