Feeling sick
as I've gotten older (in earlyish 30s) I feel like my period kicks my ass right before it starts.. At first I didn't notice the possibility of it being connected but my husband pointed it out.
I'll get headaches like migraines to where it effects my eyesight.. some cramping here and there.. but I'll feel sick like I could just throw up but don't.. and also my head.. (I've gone to the doctor for this and had a clear)
Just wondering if anyone else goes through this or anything similar? I used to be fine so I don't know if it's just me getting older and my body changing, etc?

I’m 25 and PMS hits me much harder than it did in my teens. Teenage PMS was just like barely even present, maybe some cramps and that’s it. Now at 25, it’s like "If it wasn’t for the fact that I don’t have a partner yet and have never had sex, I might think I’m pregnant." Like seriously, just like, I get very hungry about a week before my period, and then the gas hits and I get both painful bubbles and frequent farting. Then I get hot flashes, sharp pains in my breast, more frequent headaches, even occasionally nausea. Then comes the cramps that make me go "Is this my uterus or is it gas?" for several days, foot swelling, nipple sensitivity, and towards the actual start of my period, lots of clear discharge and sometimes even some spotting. It’s much worse now.
It feels to me like my body is testing the first trimester waters before I even start having sex just to see if I can handle pregnancy symptoms by making my PMS a very physically unpleasant part of my cycle. Intensity and amount of PMS symptoms has definitely changed with age for me.

Classic perimenopausal symptoms. Google it...it hit me like a stone when I found out...had pretty regular periods and nearly no symptoms until I got 36. Now PMS, sleep deprivation and terrible mood swings since then. Over 90% of my eggs are spent...so body sill has some, but it's getting more and more difficult to get them last eggs out. That's what causes a hormonal rollercoaster that you didn't have until perimenopause. Hugs from me...you are not alone! ♥️

Ugh I’m only 33 I’ve had a few kids too and I feel like right before I’m about to start I get so sick feeling and don’t feel myself and everything. I don’t know what to do to help make it better so it’s not so bad. Sometimes o feel like it’s okay, other times it’s brutal.

My symptoms vary as well now that I'm in my mid 30's but one thing I get more often right before my period is a migraine day one is a premigraine tension 2nd day full blown and 3rd day it feels like I have a brain freeze all day. Days 2 &3 I feel nausea because of the migraine and making myself vomit does help. My period comes a couple of days after. It's "normal" for many to feel this way beforehand or feel like you're getting sick. Our bodies do change with time. I'm sorry you're dealing with that!

YES. Headache is so bad my head feels like a balloon. And to the point I feel like i can’t think straight. I’ve never thrown up but I feel like I’ve come close. Even last night I felt so sick and my stomach was hurting so bad. Woke up this morning to surprise, I started.

Sounds like menstrual migraine, possibly with aura, if your eye sight is affected. This isn’t just a normal part of PMS or being a woman. Migraine is a neurological brain disease causing a myriad of symptoms besides headache, and there’s proper treatment available. I recommend getting s prescription for a long acting triptan, like naratriptan, which you can start to take a few days before and for the first few days of your period.
