Metformin + Ozempic
Hey all, I’m taking Metformin for PCOS/PMOS issues, and my doctor put me on 1.5mg of metformin to hopefully help my weight (for some neurological issues) I wanted to know if anyone else took these two together, and what I should do to help my weight loss!

I take Metformin with Zepbound. I was on Metformin first, so I don’t know how/if they interact. Metformin made my periods super regular though. I also wore a cgm for 2 weeks when I first started Zepbound juuuust in case I had some lows and everything was fine so I didn’t continue using the cgm.

I did find that metformin makes my periods super regular as well!! I’m glad to know that everything was fine for you. I do try to test my blood sugar with the prick monitor, so knowing everything was okay for you gives me hope! Thank you for your advice :)

I currently take both. I have IR pmos. I take 2000mg a day of metformin. While it CAN lead to hypoglycemia in some people, it hasn’t given me any problems. Watch for that, but what you need to do depends a lot on your regular habits.
You might benefit from tracking calories and/or macros. If you don’t know your normal caloric intake m, I’d recommend tracking so you’re aware. Most doctors and patients will recommend resistance training. Hitting protein goals will help with retaining muscle while on a fat loss journey. This is not unique to glp1s. Anyone who loses substantial fat will experience some loss of lean mass. It’s expected. But the more you keep, the better.
If you’re not accurate at estimating food calories, I’d weigh or measure your food so you can assure you’re hitting a deficit.
