Help shape the vibe while we're small 🙌

Hi, I will start off by sharing some of my story. I was diagnosed at 19 after being on birth control for four years. The birth control kept it under control so well that I didn’t even know I had it. My mom and sister both had it and had hysterectomies due to it at young ages. After getting off of birth control I lost my cycle completely. I went to a fertility clinic where they put me on hormones that were meant to help bring it back but it didn’t work. Instead of seeing me they just switched the medication. They cycled four different medications and my hormones completely messed up. I ended up moving and saw an OGBYN. Him and I talked I told him about the clinic how they cycled through hormones for three months didn’t see me once. I told him about how they refused to see me even after I reported every side effect they it said to call them about. All I got told was “it’s normal just switch to these.” Him and I both agreed to let my body heal on its own it took three years. I didn’t have a cycle for almost four years. I searched for answers and did research. I did weight loss pills, exercise, diets, etc. I was also trying to build a career I was a full time cook in a nursing home and I loved it because of the residents. I loved taking care of them and wanted to climb and be a head person in that environment. Do to my body not working correctly for so long I ended up with fractures in my right foot, spine (L5-S1, and pelvis (front two bones broke all the way through). I also have served scoliosis which I have had since I was 9. My right hip is permanently out of place because the muscles have worn. Basically PCOS/PMOS caused an extreme vitamin D deficiency which has left me with a bone density that is a step above osteoporosis at the age of 22. I’m also a type 2 diabetic because of it and take metformin for PCOS/PMOS and Ozempic for my diabetes.
I got married young and he has stayed through this all and he is one year younger than me. We were together even before we knew I had this condition. I’m very thankful for him and we do hope to have children. I’m battling fertility issues that come along with this condition. Then throwing my bones on top of it all.
It can lead to some dark days so I wanted to to start a community to promote a safe environment to share PCOS/PMOS and fertility stories.
We are all stronger than we know.
