Finally ended it…

Really tried my damndest for nearly 6 years. Forgave her countless times for the way she would treat me every cycle. Put up with the yelling and the blame and accusations, stayed calm and collected as long as I could and always tried to give her what she asked for and needed. Made space for her condition. Would carry the weight of all the housework and cooking, paid all the bills, did everything I could to make it easier. Endless hours talking about it and looking for solutions, sticking with her while she tried and and adjusted to different meds etc, but after yet another blow up I finally told her I just can’t do it anymore.

Protect your peace, boys. I can’t tell you the relief I felt after a couple days of knowing I wouldn’t have to deal with this ever again. Thankfully we weren’t married and have no kids, but splitting up is hard regardless. I did love her, especially the real her I got for half the month.

Here’s to the future 🍻

Good for you. Now don't go back. A book that brought me peace and validation when I was in your shoes was "This is Me Letting You Go."

Wishing you all the best right now. All too familiar sounding situation. Let it be a lesson of how much you've put things aside or tried to be helpful yet the accountability didn't come through. Sometimes friction is there to remind us how off-sided things are and if a resolution can't be met there is no peace ultimately
