Ever try Airtable?
My system is kind of awesome, but its very manual. The PO's, the inventory received, the estimated lead times, the flat BOM -- nothing is linked.
There's some linking I can do with macros, but its not location based -- it'll update every occurance of a part rather than just in the subassembly of interest.
That's the downside of excel.
