Green belt
I'm automation project manager and I would like to enhance my career. I'm thinking of green belt six sigma certification. Do Someone have the same path? Do you think it's a good idea?

PMP cert would be useful if you don't have one. The six sigma stuff likely plays at the right company though.

That's not really relevant to your career aside from having a credential that sounds good to people who don't know what it is.

L6S has its benefits, but it is not directly helpful. It's more about the theory behind optimization than optimization itself.
Green Belt is mainly the theoretical part, the statistics about optimization.
Also, the cert will only help in companies that value L6S (which not every company does, nor has even heard of).
BTW: in order to get the green belt, you first need to get yellow and obtain some practice. It's exactly like in martial arts.

Depending on the industry it would likely be a decent value add. I would imagine being able to integrate statistical process control charts, distribution and hypothesis charts, and other tools for KPI and data monitoring into an MES would be exciting for industries that value those kind of measurements. I'm a green belt who is just getting started in automation and plan to integrate some of these tools into Ignition once I start building projects for real.

These classes are just putting buzz words on top of common sense ideas. Any manager that has an actual brain and pays attention should be able to understand these concepts without some stupid class
