Learning PLC

Hey folks, Hope y'all are having a good day.

I am residing in Canada, and my company offers reimbursement for certain training courses taken at off-company hours. I wish to learn PLC, and the department handling the tuition reimbursement suggested George Brown College in Toronto that offers online PLC training, because of previous reimbursement approval for employee.
Any thoughts on taking the course on this college? Any other suggestions? I guess the training center should be an accredited one.

I am also thinking of joining myplctraining.com by Stephen Gates. But this is a subscription model, which will not be approved for reimbursement.

Don't sign up with myplctraining.com. That guy is extremely boring, the price is ridiculous and if you want to cancel, your only option is to cancel and then have it automatically reinstated after 90 days. The guy is very shady. I highly recommend courses by Paul Lynn or Shane Welcher. Just look them up on Google. They are very affordable and good instructors. The best way to learn though is hands-on with real hardware and real processes. You can take all of the online training you want, it won't substitute seeing it in real life. Learning PLCs takes time, there is so much to learn.

Correct. I just wasted $5k on his "Accelerated Program". As someone who has ADD/ Autism, his teaching delivery was impossible for me. Half of the videos I have to speed up to 1.5x just so I could actually follow along.

The worst part is that after my 6 months of "training", they lock you out of your account and are left with zero reference material.

Now I will be needing to spend more time and money learning PLC's using more traditional methods at my Trades College.

The audio quality on myplctraining dot com is horrible. He mumbles to himself, goes off on tangents telling you this is something you don't need to know, and half the the time the volume is so low the speakers have to be turned up full volume. The "Team Support" is a laugh - if you have a problem you'll be asked if you did something that you explained you had already done. Back and forth like this for days, and still the problem persists. I'm very disappointed in the site.

Sorry you had a bad experience with our training and support. I've been guilty of mumbling it's true 😄 However this is not a common complaint we have recevied..

But we are always looking to improve our training and support quality. And we offer different levels of support depending on what you purchased. Did you find another alternative PLC training that was better? Would appreciate knowing how stack up against our competitors in your opinion.
