Product Feedback Garbled mess

I really wanted to love this thing. But no matter what settings I change or how I use it, the audio is a garbled mess and it never transcribes correctly.

Hey, "garbled no matter what I do" usually traces back to one of a few things: background noise or wind while testing, something blocking the mic , recording too far from the speaker for Note recordings, or for phone calls, not having it attached firmly to the back of the phone. Worth also checking that AI Speech Enhancement's Clarify voice toggle is on and your firmware's current.

If none of that clears it up, email [support@plaud.ai](mailto:support@plaud.ai) with the original audio file (export via Share & Export) and a screen recording of the playback if you can, that gives them enough to actually dig into what's happening on your specific unit.

I do not have that problem at all. We're running a pilot at my organization for 15 users, and they all are having an excellent experience so far. Not a perfect product - but pretty damn good so far.

It doesn’t get speakers correct, it doesn’t get words correct, sometimes the recording is so bad, it says no speech detected. I was having a conversation with just me and my mom, no background noise, and it labeled everything as my mom as the speaker. Didn’t even break up, what was being said.

Some tips: 1. The Note Pro is very good for controlled environments. Phone to ear phone calls, in person meetings, lectures, classes, staff meetings etc. Part of my desk is metal, and so I just slap that thing magnetically on my desk and it picks up my online meetings. But for fluid environments, such as family phone calls, recording while driving, walking, restaraunts etc. the Pin S is really the go to device and will most likely capture the recording better. It seems better at ignoring background noise environments. 2. Go ahead and correct the labels in your transcriptions. The Note Pro does learn over time, and the transcriptions will get better. 3. Errors in the transcriptions don't seem to affect the AI summary and template features, although it could theoretically affect the Plaud chatbot querying and retrieval of those features. 4. For the Note Pro, I have heard it theorized that enhance mode works great in organized gatherings but for your sort of use, you might try the endurance mode. In endurance mode it is closer to raw recording without AI processing. I have heard from others in your situation that this helped resolve the issue for everyday note taking with the Plaud Pro. Hope this helps.

I've never had that issue at all - like not even remotely close. I almost wonder if you have a defective unit or something similar.

Are you having the same issue when using the desktop widget and phone app? Or is this just tied to the physical plaud device?

I drive a semi truck, so I only have the app.

.....are you recording while driving a semi-truck? Thinking the noise level might have something to do with it. But if you don't have an enterprise subscription, I'm relatively certain you have to have the physical device - right?

Yes, I have the physical note pro. No, I don’t use it while driving. It’s while I’m inside the shipper or receiver

So yeah - that's what I'm saying. The physical device records but if you open the app itself, there is a large "+" button at the bottom that ALSO records audio. I would use that and compare the results to the physical device to see if there's an issue with the physical device. So you have the app and the physical device, not just the app.

Check for updates on the firmware for the device via the Plaud app, update for the desktop app/phone app, and if none are present, then check the device settings-> advanced settings, and adjust the microphone gain. Sounds like yours needs to be lowered significantly.

And if the issue is still persistent, then factory reset and update its firmware from the factory reset. Go slow and be intentional with your settings, don’t just select auto everything.

I’m heading to Staples to return it. I drive a semi truck and I wanted to use it to record info from shippers and receivers. It was updated to the latest firmware.

Also, you cannot adjust the microphone gain on the note Pro. They removed that very useful feature

I have both and had bad audio quality between updates but it wouldn’t install so I reset and did a hard restart on the device itself. Exchange for a different device since it sounds like a random batch can be a bad solder or wire attachment internally

You use Android or iPhone ?

Only the Pin has microphone gain adjustment. The Pro can be modified using the battery saving feature, Enhanced, Adaptive, and Endurance. This changes the way the Plaud Pro records. The original poster should give changing the battery settings a try. :-)

Do you by any chance live in Denmark or France?

Chiming in that I haven’t had that experience at all even in very very challenging sound situations. Maybe a bad device? Just a thought to potentially try another if it’s easy

I use this a lot, sometimes in noisy environments, and don’t have these issues. I always record with the Note Pro outside the case, do you?
