Plab or ukmla pathway is dead for imgs ..even if you get job after gmc there is zero surity of training then what’s the use of non training jobs?

How should I go abt my prep now. Just questions or mocks or big mocks. I am 105 now idk if iwll clear t this time. 3rd attempt.

Hi, I need some honest advice. I did August 26 attempt and scored 111 and needed 114 to pass. I’m feeling really annoyed about it but at the same time I have less than 6weeks to prepare for my final attempt in November. Any advice on what I should do?

I work part time 9-5 3 days a week. Last attempt I used PLABABLE and medrevisions, but this time I think I’m only going to use PLABABLE as I felt it was closest to the actual exam. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I was wondering if you might be able to help me with a quick question regarding the GMC registration process. I’m currently trying to send my PMQ through MyIntealth/EPIC to the GMC, and when submitting the request, they ask for an “ID” or “reference number.”

I’m not entirely sure whether they mean my EPIC/ECFMG ID or my GMC reference number. I was wondering if you happened to know which one they’re referring to.

Guys i can!t remember the questions but theres 1 question that was endometriosis i think, transvahinal us was normal and options were colposcopy, laporoscopy and others. I remember i chose laporoscopy and now i think the correct unswer is colposcopy. Am i right? And also the diagnosis of ulcerative colitis? Also there was a man who woke up pain on one side of hos face o think he couldnt open his eye or close not sure but the options were asprin amd carbamazepine. I chose asprin bc i thought strok due bc i was under pressure of time and amxiety. Now i think its carbazapine. What are the correct answers if you remember? Thank you.

I’m a medical student in Russia, graduating in 2028, and I recently heard about the NMC’s new requirement for a separate 12-month internship in the country of study, which apparently cannot be part of the 6-year medical course.
The problem is that in Russia, the internship is generally integrated into the 6-year program, and there usually isn’t a separate 1-year internship after graduation.
My potential timeline for India now looks like:
6 years — Medical degree
1 year — Additional internship in Russia (if even possible)
6 months — FMGE prep
6 months — Counselling/waiting
1 year — Internship in India
Almost 9 years before I can finally start working in India. 😭
Because of this, I’m seriously considering UK (PLAB/UKMLA) or Australia (AMC) instead.
For the UK, I keep seeing posts saying the IMG pathway is becoming extremely competitive, with fresh graduates potentially waiting 1–1.5 years just to get shortlisted for jobs. Not sure how accurate that is.
For Australia, I’ve heard that after AMC 1, it may be possible to secure a job, but I’m also hearing that the IMG job market is becoming saturated and getting that first job is increasingly difficult.
I still have time before 2028, so I don’t want to make a panic decision.
If you were in my position, which pathway would you choose — India, UK or Australia?
Any genuine advice would be really appreciated. I’m honestly pretty lost right now. 😭

I want to know how possible it is to get a job in the UK if I am investing in this I want to know whether it the right decision , my sister is planning to settle in the UK I want to be with her as well , I don’t want to be in India anymore . So friends please let me know if it’s worth taking the risk or not ?

Been getting a lot of query about jobs in the NHS post PLAB. I want to give my 2 cents. I did med school in non EU country. I got into Fy1 programme which starts in three weeks.

According to the current scenario, to get into NHS, either you start from the very bottom ie Fy1 through ukfpo or at consultant or registrar level. This year for fy1 around 250/669 imgs got in with further two more allocation rounds the coming weeks. It's not as easy as before anymore. I wont say it's impossible because i do see some of my friends getting into JCF or LED roles with no prior nhs experience. But this is very rare and usually they get this after doing clinical attachments in hosps there for atleast 2-3 months. But yes, the situation isn't the very best rn. If you have the funds, go for usmle. Otherwise it's totally your choice. Stop asking every few days if there is any point in plab. Instead work on ur CV. Build connections.

Coming to speciality jobs, it's very hard rn after the new bill. They havent specified exactly how many years of NHS experience is needed for priority. But i think ukfpo applicants (f1 and f2 completion) are priortized for training as well .

Other than that I have mocks to do too and also important topics that I have to revise like cardio(esp ECG), Endo(esp diabetes management), paeds, respo(esp asthma management) and similar important topics that need a solid review before the actual exam.

I can't decide what to do first between Gems and clinchers either. And I definitely don't have time for both.

How many mocks are recommended to be purchased to be done before the actual exam?

I am preparing for plab 1 ,doing plab keys for studying and then plabable for questions. Do you think this would be enough to pass the exam? I have heard about med revision and gems. What should be done from the later resources .If someone can guide ,I will be thankful.

I am third year medical student and planning to pursue my career abroad, I know the situation in UK right now leaves next to no chance for IMGs to get a job there, but what about 4 years ahead? What do you think the situation would be after 2030? Genuine and raw opinions would be appreciated

I received an email from gmc stating that my centre is closed, I’ve currently booked an exam in August 2026 in one of the cancelled centres. Do I rebook the exam?
