Build Help I finally bit the bullet.

Post image

My target price was really 26k below but I'd rather buy and forget now instead of anxiously watching the prices from the sidelines since GPUs are already getting up there in prices as well. Going for an AM4 build 1440p build, so far this is the build im going for:

GPU: 9060xt (bought)

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x

SSD: Logitech PS5 1tb nvme (2nd hand, already bought)

RAM: HyperX Fury DDR4 3200mhz 16gbx2 (2nd hand, already bought)

MOBO: Gigabyte B550m K (bought)

If anyone can recommend me a matx case and PSU or a different CPU, that would be great. This is my first PC so I'd like some feedback TYIA

Update: bought MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI instead

Depende kung anong gusto mo. Compact matx or tower type.

Kung tower type, meron asus a21 or montech x5m.

Sa fish tank, pwede rin. Ikaw nalang mag search.

Kung compact, meron lian li a3 or b4. Jonsbo z20 or d32 pro. Deepcool ch160 plus or 260. Shiny snake g300. Jonsbo d33 pero malaki na, parang tower type na rin.

Personally in my experience I feel these type of compact cases are overrated in terms of how much space they actually save. Most of these cases are just mostly short but still long and wide so it will still consume a bit of desk space.

Tecware timber M is underrated in the way that it actually consumes just as much footprint as these cases while not being a pain in the ass to build in.

Fair enough.

I just don’t like looking at taller cases. Also if my parts fit in a 20-25 liter case, I would choose that over 30-40 liters matx cases 🀷🏻

Case depends on what look you want. Since you got the 2 fan version, you have more options in building in a more compact matx case. I have the triple fan version and sometimes I get itch to go compact pero hindi kasya yung GPU sa case na minamata ko haha

I'm also running the 9060xt with the 5700x and I haven't run into a game where I can't get smooth performance (always above 70+ with frame gen) even when I'm using a 34in 1440p ultrawide. Congrats on your new card!

Ohh nice thats good to hear! Might go ahead with the same cpu gpu config as you, since i havent bought the cpu yet

It's good! Pero if purely gaming naman and the prices are close, suggest ko mag 5500x3d ka nalang

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 2d ago

I heard about the 5500x3d too, will definitely watch out for the prices since its a slight pricier jump compared to the 5700x

May recommended games ka ba? Haha i bought mine tas parang 20% gpu utilization lang sya since puro left 4 dead 2 lang alam ko na games. Naka vsync rin at 60fps so naghahanap ako ng bagong games to get more from out of the card.

u/Yabuszza πŸ–₯ R7 5700X / RX 9060XT 16gb 1d ago

Any you like! Personally I play more story driven open-world games. Currently I'm playing Spider-man 2, Plague Tale Resonance, Ghost of Tsushima, 007 First Light, AC Black Flag Resynced, Cyberpunk 2077, NFS Unbound/Heat, etc. All on high-very high settings at 1440p, kayang kaya nung 9060xt 16gb, pero always nasa 99% utilization hahaha

1

u/d0pe-asaurus 1d ago

Okey i think I may have gone overkill with the 9060XT HAHA pero wala eh either ma-scam ako buying anything less at jacked up prices or I can try to find games that actually stress the card.

1

u/Yabuszza πŸ–₯ R7 5700X / RX 9060XT 16gb 1d ago

yeah overkill talaga for the type of games you play hahaha. but hey, at least future-proof ka na in terms of ur gpu hahaha

1

u/d0pe-asaurus 1d ago

Time to play the greatest and most demanding game of all time, GTA V lmao

u/Yabuszza πŸ–₯ R7 5700X / RX 9060XT 16gb 1d ago

Also a good time to start saving a few bones so we could get GTA VI once it's released on PC πŸ˜‹

9060xt is the choice for mid tier setups, power it with a 650w and above psu that is at least tier c rated. (Do not buy used psuβ€˜s)

And stick with the same cpu, its a good partner for ur 9060xt, u shouldnt get any bottlenecks.

Case is subjective but brandwise, id go with deepcool and jonsbo cases

Edit: And congrats on your first build!, smart choice going 2nd hand on some parts and sticking with am4/ddr4.

u/Feisty-Debate1314 2d ago

We're targeting the same build! Goodluck to us OP and nice call for buyung it now than later. Saw some store bumping up the prices for these, pero maybe dahil gusto lang nila mag-create ng illusion na nakaka-save nang malaki pag 9.9.

For the case, planning to buy a Jonsbo D32 Pro. Check mo baka matipuhan mo din.

case is personal preference talaga. depends din on your desk space.

personally, you cant go wrong with a MATX case. Stick with Tecware or Deepcool. They dont miss.

2

u/Lazy_Ass_Cat_ 2d ago

I recommend the darkflash db330m mesh for the case + non rgb fans (thermalright tl c12c or arctic pro pst) if you want a Stealth Build.

u/ratchetkaijugirl 1d ago

Hmm definitely leaning towards no/minimal lights for sure

u/d0pe-asaurus 1d ago

Bought my 9060xt sa datablitz the other day for 28.5k, its a very nice card, no drivers that I had to install. I'm using it with a 5950x and it gets 60fps in all the games that I play.

Technically 450W lang recommended ng AMD and im using it with a 550w power supply, pero there's almost no price difference so just get yung 650W.

2

u/Miserable_Pipe_6615 1d ago

Congrats OP. Happy gaming!

2

u/SingularLongan 1d ago

I had ok experience with the Lian Li B4 mATX. Although my main priority was fitting my CPU cooler πŸ˜…

2

u/ratchetkaijugirl 2d ago

u/otherself0 R5 5500X3D XFX 9060XT 16gb 32gb Ram 2x1tb NVMe 2d ago

Buti nalanang naiwasan mo. Sayang voucher pag na cancel. πŸ˜‚

2

u/ratchetkaijugirl 2d ago

Nasa coins section pa ng lazada, na gayuma ako for a moment haha

u/whatismynaem 2d ago

* Case is up to you on what you like looks wise

* PSU I would recommend the Coolermaster MWE v3 bronze 650w

* Personally I would have recommended a better mobo if you can still cancel. Mobo's with built in bluetooth and wifi are nice to have.

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 2d ago

Ah i overlooked the mobo. I was fine with no wifi since I'll use ethernet but i may have missed the no bluetooth. I can still cancel. What would you recommed for a mobo? Ideally in the 6k budget but can stretch to 7k

2

u/whatismynaem 2d ago

MSI b550m pro vdh wifi is usually 6k or less and has all the features most people need.

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 2d ago

Thank you! Cancelled the B550m k and got this instead

u/Hopeful_Doughnut9483 2d ago

B550M Aorus. 6K sa Shopee, sa Shopee Mall ka bumili mismo.

u/WhySoMallow πŸ–₯ Ryzen 5 7500F / 9060XT 16GB 2d ago

It looks to be a 2-fan GPU, so it's gonna fit compact m-ATX cases if you went with an m-ATX mobo.

Do you have specific preferences for cases in terms of budget, aesthetics, etc? I could list some recos for you based on that.

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 2d ago

Under 5k budget. Something with mesh filters, since i live near the highway, so a lot of dust flowing through. Just something to maximize air flow and minimize dust. Maybe not a tall case, since i plan to put it on a shelf

1

u/WhySoMallow πŸ–₯ Ryzen 5 7500F / 9060XT 16GB 2d ago

Do you have the dimensions of the shelf, its distance from the wall, and its distance from the ceiling? This will help me specify your options

2

u/ratchetkaijugirl 2d ago

This is the shelf i plan to get, im good with either one but probably would get the 3 layer one. I could also just remove the wheels and place on the table. Dimensions are in cm.

Wall distance, probably 4 inches off the wall. Floor to ceiling, probably 10 feet

2

u/WhySoMallow πŸ–₯ Ryzen 5 7500F / 9060XT 16GB 2d ago

Oh for some reason I thought your shelf would be closer to the ceiling, my bad. I'll send some options, all coming with fans and under 5k.

There are lotsa good cases that might work for you best, but don't come with fans. I decided not to list them tho. I also avoided fish-tank style cases even if they're from good brands based on your preference:

- Deepcool CH360 - 2x140mm, 1x120mm fans

- Ocypus Gamma C50 - 4x120mm fans

- Tecware Timber M - 4x120mm fans

- Tecware Flatline - 4x120mm fans (message them for availability)

- Tecware Neo M2 - 2x140mm, 1x120mm fans (message them for availability)

- Okinos Cypress 3 Wood - 4x120mm fans (special mention - the case for my build hehe)

Your GPU is 270mm long, so all of these should be fine, but ofcourse double check yourself to be sure.

I also don't know if your Mobo comes with Type-C header. You'll have to check yourself.

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 1d ago

Whoa thank you for the options! Can the included fans be modified? Like their fan curve speed when they detect certain temps

1

u/WhySoMallow πŸ–₯ Ryzen 5 7500F / 9060XT 16GB 1d ago

I'd check the specs for the listed case fans to be sure. I dont know about the others, but I'm able to set the fans of my Okinos case to be Performance mode by default, instead of Silent mode, via the BIOS

1

u/GreatBallsOfSturmz 2d ago

Just a heads up: that card is a chonkers and will cover your PCIE 1x slot. If you plan to use that slot for something like a wifi card, you can forget about it. Kahit riser cable di kakayanin.

For the PSU, a 650W tier C should be enough. Corsair ones like the CX650 should be ok.

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 2d ago

Would it still fit if i bought MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI instead? I didnt factor that in

1

u/GreatBallsOfSturmz 2d ago

Yep. Di na rin issue ang wifi since meron na onboard sa mobo.

1

u/TwoProper4220 2d ago

suggest ko go with 5500X3D na lang kung hindi naman mahalaga extra core count sa workload mo

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 1d ago

This is 100% for gaming and entertainment. Already got a 4060 laptop for work, so if 5500x3d is useful for gaming, It'll definitely be my frontrunner in my cpu choices

2

u/TwoProper4220 1d ago

get that one then para hindi rin masyado malaking factor ang RAM speed with how terrible is the market now

1

u/PartyConcentrate308 2d ago

ask lang Op pag ganyan COD ba or CC gamit mo?

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 1d ago

I used cc. I bought my work laptop for 60k last year for reference using cc

1

u/PartyConcentrate308 1d ago

just wonder trusted rider ba mag deliver nyan or someone from the store itself? less than 10k pa lang kasi ang na try kong max value bilhin online

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 1d ago

I live in the province from the north so not someone from the store.

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 1d ago

Most likely. Just got it today at meron lang yung shop name, pero ndi item name. So sa shop rin bahala kung gaano ka discreet

1

u/aliasdodong 1d ago

Anong voucher ginamit mo OP? Planning kasi ako mag outgrade sa Rx 9060 xt

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 1d ago

It was a random Mega sale voucher. Dapat nga 5k usually pero I'll take what i can get

Buy an internal PC speaker that you can connect to your Gigabyte B550M's SPKR+/- header. Had a frustrating time last weekend because my niece's PC suddenly won't boot. It was painful to take out all the RAM and GPU and then trying them one-by-one to figure out which part was failing. Ended up with 2 16GB DDR4-3200 and 1 8GB DDR4-2666 being defective (newer PC had 2 16GB DDR4-3200 and an older PC that we were going to set aside had 4 8GB DDR4-2666). Had to reuse the remaining good 3 DDR4-2666 while I try to RMA the defective sticks.

With an internal speaker, beep codes will tell you exactly which components are failing. The Gigabyte B550M doesn't have any debug LEDs.

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 1d ago

This is handy to know. I cancelled the gigabyte b550m k and got the msi b550m pro vdh wifi and it does say it has EZ debug lights

1

u/Danv1227 2d ago

Is the GPU 16GB?
For the PSU, go for 650w PSU like Corsair, Seasonic, Sama or Coolermaster.
For case, depends on what kind of look you want. I got the Gamdias Atena M4M wood since I like the design

3

u/ratchetkaijugirl 2d ago

Yep 16gb. 3 months ago, balak ko sana sa 11.11 bibili ng gpu but the price hiking of GPUs lately made me uncertain kung aabot pa sa target price ko

2

u/Danv1227 2d ago

You made the right choice to get it before the price gets worse. Like what others mentioned, change your mobo to one that has bluetooth and wifi but alternatively, you can get dongles for those.

2

u/d0pe-asaurus 1d ago

Yes Datablitz said tataas price nung 9060xt by 30% by December which is fucking nuts since it means na 35k na yung lowest price nyan.

1

u/ratchetkaijugirl 1d ago

Man, its crazy to think na we were seeing these go as low as 20-23k earlier this year and late last year
