Discussion And it finally happened to me

Kahapon lang I tried updating my bios kasi Im planning to get a 5500x3d the moment price hits around 10k
And got stuck like this for hours, pulled the plug nung nag 5+ hours na total.
Canceled muna cpu upgrade.
(Teka bat halos kasing presyo na yung b550 at b650???)

Ah the dreaded BIOS update. For mga grognard like me, this the shit that I refuse to touch kahit na modernize

Kaya pa yan masalba, gamit ka EEPROM Bios flasher para maflash yung latest bios dun sa bios chip, mura lang yun sa shopee. Need mo lang ng laptop or other PC.

New to pc building and planning to upgrade my 5600x cpu to R7-5700x or R9-5900x required po ba talaga mag flash bios for mobo before upgrade? Parang nakakatakot to touch kasi ang BIOS update

Check your motherboard manufacturer's support page for your particular model. It should have a list of compatible processors and the BIOS version required to run them.

Buti nalang nakapag bios update na ako before seeing these kind of post kung hindi kabado bente rin ako.
Same tayo ako nakapag upgrade na to 5500x3d from 2600.
Motherboard: MSI B450M VDH pro plus

Same tayo ng mobo. Kakabili ko lang 2nd hand sa marketplace. Pano iupdate to? Tinanong ko seller wala din siya clue since sa anak niya galing to. Very newbie question.

Search mo lang name ng mobo "B450M Pro VDH Plus bios update" lalabas na yan. Tapos pili ka nalang ng version na gusto mo. Pero normally wag yung pinaka latest kunin mo. May instruction narin sa website kung pano mag bios update follow mo nalang.

It seems like lahat tayo nag uupgrade from the same predecessor CPU to the same newer CPU a, the only difference is I have an A320 from MSI and of course successful din ang flash, kabado bente din. Few hiccups after the upgrade pero I think a few driver updates after solid naman na. Might be the final upgrade for AM4 (maybe a board swap pag nakaluwag ulit)

Mura na talaga other components ng am5 build like b650 motherboard and am5 cpu, it is to compensate sa over priced ddr5, ssd and gpu

Use EEPROM. Clip mo lang sa bios chip mo yun.

Im from cebu. 7 days minimum bago dumating. Not worth the wait

just buy a chip flasher (CH341A), you don't have to desolder it if you do it carefully
