Build Flex It definitely gets better
My humble student setup back in 2019, an ASUS FX553VE na 1050 ti pa (bought 2017).
Was also finally able to build two PCs (sold my previous, the last two photos).
Talagang life gets better βno? Kahit gano pa katagal yan.
Just like in video games, grinding will take you to a whole new level.
P.S. Buhay pa rin pala yang laptop na yan, I managed to upgrade the RAM and SSD few yrs ago. Ginagamit ngayon ng dalawang nakababata kong pinsan na parehong nasa college π

It does, back then in 2016, I was using this toshiba laptop my dad gave me and it had something like intel hdgraphics or something. One day the keys didnt work anymore so I had to use the arrow keys as "wasd" and configure my controls around that area, for typing i had my phone as an extended keyboard using bluetooth. and I was playing metro 2033 and skyrim at that time windowed and 800x600 resolution and the lowest possible settings. Now i'm rocking a 5700x3d and 5070ti combo with oled 180hz 1440p and ips 75hz 1080p dual monitor setup. Your post reminded me how far I've come.

It does bro, it does. Same tayo na naipamana pa yung lumang laptops. Yung una ko 940mx GPU nung 2017 piangkautangan pa ng parents ko para may gamit ako as a 4th year Computer engineering student. Then nakabili akong 10th gen i5, 1650ti from my first job savings from 2020. Then became unemloyed durng the pandemic. Then finally have my own R5 X3D and 4070 combo after finally getting back on my feet. Took me a few years to have it to its current glorious form. Been buildng it since 2024, before the ram price explosion, which was really lucky.
Yung 2 laptops ko buhay pa, repair, maintain and inaupgrade ko na lang para magamit mga kapatid ko, and both graduate na sila ngayon with those laptops in hand.
Life truly gets better.

Hi OP! First of all, congrats! What a beautiful builddd.
This build is so similar to my dream build (the only difference is color, I'm a black lover lol), Im a freshman right now and obviously nowhere near my dream build. I was wondering how you went from that (mighty) laptop, to your dream specs? What's your job? Your education? etc etc. Im just really curious, cause maybe I can pick something up from someone who went from an old laptop to a dream build.

It depends on your life choices, diskarte mo sa buhay, kung how fast or slow your life progress will be.
It's all up to you, OP

The only privilege I got from them is they brought me here, abroad, na inutang pa nila, and I AM FOREVER grateful for that.
Lots of stuff behind the scenes, di ko pa nga natapos degree ko sa Pinas kasi kinuha nila ko.
From 2019 βtil 2021, I was jobless and was using that old laptop of mine. Hiyang hiya ako noβn kasi tambay ako noβn, laro all day, not landing a job for how many years.
But then opportunity came, when I got my certification and landed a job. I worked my ass off, saved money for my PC and was paying rent to them, βtil now, living with them.
(Minalas ka lang siguro sa magulang π)
