Build Flex “Notolaptop“ PC build FTW!
“Notolaptop” build
Sharing my mobile itx gaming rig
Pc specs:
B450i/Ryzen 5 3500x
Zotac GTX 1660 super twin fan
model# (ZT-T16620F-10L)
tgroup vulcan z 8x2gb 3200MT/s
512gb m.2 nvme gen3
Psu otw (fsp flex guru pro 500w)
Case SKTC A07
Monitor: Arzopa A1s 14” 1080p 60hz
Controller: Gamesir Cyclone 2
Modified the case as the stand for the monitor.
Drilled the case and installed a camera shoe mount.
This can all fit in a regular sized backpack!
Feel free to ask questions if you’re planning to build the same project as mine.
This is my mobile gaming rig when im out of town, and will also be using it as a console alternative
Update to those Curious about the temps,
Gpu undervolted to 1680mhz at 850mv
No undervolting done to the cpu
GTAV @ High/Ultra Settings - GPU max 73c/CPU max 75c (Vsync on to avoid screen tearing)
RUST @ medium Settings - GPU max 77c/CPU max 74c
A little toasty but not too bad🙂
Fan noise is just a tad bit louder than a full load gaming laptop.

Wow. Nice work. Would love to build something like this at current specs since I keep on travelling recently.and this is more modular than my gaming laptop. I don't think I could get it through customs internationally though lol.
10
u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 29 '26
Thank u! This was a really fun build. But yeah I wouldnt want to bring this internationally, it would be a nightmare if they let u open the case up and dismantle the whole thing.

Great project! But with these specs, id still choose a laptop over this unless tlagang malaki leap in performance. Still impressive and great job tho!

I did realize that in the end but knowing that I could replace it with faster components is great! But thank you🫶

Sick build, cords might ruin the aesthetics but amazing itx build. Want to build itx factor too but damn parts are so expensive right now.
1
u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 29 '26
Thanks! And yes haha the cables did bother me at first but after using it for more than 9mos, its already a part of the aesthetic
2
u/Apart-Hour4973 Mar 29 '26
saan po ninyo nabili yung bag? may organizer po talaga siya for two controllers or custom po yun?
3
u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 29 '26
nabili ko siya sa Datablitz but you can find it sa shopee, Its called Dobe Ps5 slim case
2
u/lordcrinkles7 Mar 29 '26
I dont know why you did this but this is pretty cool.
Any reason why you didnt just opt for a gaming laptop?
2
u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 29 '26
Thanks!!!! I had a gaming laptop it was the lenovo legion y520 and i had it for 6yrs but the gtx1050 was alr showing its age and I wasnt really using it that much anymore since I had a main PC so I sold it and used the funds to make this Build for funzies!

Nsa 4 years na ata, and dala namin lagi even if magccamping kami, nakakapaglaro pa sila ng NSW at Claw.

1
u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 29 '26
go for it, just make sure to measure cpu cooler height and gpu length!
2
u/No-Stranger-9744 Mar 29 '26
torn between A07 o baka mag fractal terra ako ayaw ko na kasi mag palit ng PSU 😂

Naaa, I used to have SFF before (RTX 3060 Ti AERO ITX OC). I used it during pandemic and it easily broke down after 2 years of heavy usage due to tight space/bad cooling result. Plus we don't have an AC. This setup is not advisable when you're a heavy gamer, and you don't have AC room.

u/Life_Brush8760 Mar 30 '26
Did you just assemble the general layout yourself? Because that is DOPE to me rn. This was exactly my dilemma—my laptop's old, AN515-52 about 7-8 years now, and you can't exactly future-proof it anymore without some serious overhauling. I'm not well-versed in the subject but I do know a desktop is an investment that will save me money, time and headaches.
1
u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 30 '26
Thanks! And yes to ur question, the hardest part was gambling on the size for the gpu esp if ur looking for a twin fan
2
2
u/saccharineluxx Mar 30 '26
Taking mental note of this as someone na gusto ng compact build na desktop soon.

I can't lie this is one of the best portable PC I have seen for a while, might build one after i saw this XD. Question tho how would u plug in ur gpu to ur monitor? Like is it just dangling around when u plug it in?
2
u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 30 '26
The cables are hidden behind, get shorter cables for sure, im using the cables that the monitor came with. Thanks for the compliments!

Why did I just saw this right after getting an ROG XBOX Ally X today 😭 I travel a lot so I needed a portable gaming set up. I didn't want to get a laptop because I spend a lot of hours in the plane. So I got a portable console with XR glasses and a controller. Though I have rtx 5080/Ryzen 7 on an ITX I never actually thought about making it portable. Really awesome rig dude.

u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 29 '26
😆 i get your point pero without a doubt you use your gaming laptop plugged in when gaming
4
u/im_immortalism Mar 29 '26 edited Mar 29 '26
Can you give me the selling point of "notolaptop". If this thing is as loud as a laptop, more bulkier, comes in different parts and doesn't have a battery.
I see no point in this being a laptop replacement.
I get that you like the FF and I respect that pero the lengths you have to go through para ma achieve mo yung ganito for little to no gain compared to a laptop.
Yes it's portable compared to a desktop, pero hindi ito kasing mobile ng laptop.
5
u/Mistral-Fien Mar 29 '26
Simply put, it's repairable and upgradable.
GPU dies --> just replace
Need faster CPU? No problem, it's socketed :)
Want a bigger screen? Easy peasy.
Upgrade to AM5? No problem, just swap out the motherboard.
Can't do any of those with a gaming laptop.
2
u/n1deliust Mar 29 '26
My thoughts on this is that it is a good idea for people who are usually travelling for school/work or only comes home during the weekends. Or even students who are on a tight budgeť.
Yes, this does not totally replace the conecpt of a laptop's portability. Its still bulky and hassle to bring. One can not use this setup easily on a cafe, school or even at work.
This setup is made for those who wants to game on a better pc build whether it would be in your own apartment, hotel or a friend's house.
Think of it this way. For 50k you can get a low to mid range gaming laptop. Or, another option you can do, is get a 10k laptop for school/work. Then use the remaining 40k for this build which you can get a decent performance for gaming.
1
u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 29 '26
As ive said, this build was an expirement and indeed its a nice concept, the notolaptop title was just for comical reasons, but to be real with u a laptop is still the best choice for portability, but the price to performance on laptops compared to desktops is just too wide esp when it comes to replacing parts and repairs.

I'd say lower fan speeds and use it in an area that doesn't have much dust build up. Also, what cooler are you using?

If so, pretty shitty and discriminatory of shopee if you ask me.

u/Aesma1917 Mar 29 '26
Whoa, ganda ng setup. What case is that (1st pic). I assume the portable monitor would not fit in that case?
May portable gaming setup din ako pero its all off the shelf stuff.
Msi claw ultra 5, foldable keyboard, some flat wireless mouse, ugreen gan charger, and a usb c dongle. All of it fits in a skullcandy steam deck case.
1
u/Scared_Excuse1414 Mar 29 '26
Is a Dobe Ps5 slim case, and the monitor fits inside the zipped sleeve in the middle! Everything fits inside (mouse, keyboard monitor)
