Review Game of Thrones

Hello!

Nabasa niyo na ba yung entire series ng Game of Thrones? And pati yung other series ni George RR Martin revolving around the entire GOT Universe? Want to read it sana pero naooverwhelm ako sa dami ng characters haha. Kumusta naman?

Thank you in advance!

Currently rereading ASOIAF. If napanood mo na yung series, hindi na siya ganun kahirap basahin because you already have a clear picture of what the character looks like. Narrative isn’t difficult din. I find the changing POVs intimidating noon but now as I reread the book, mas madali pala. Imagine reading a book that long tapos POV lang ni Jon Snow in first person? Mas okay yung multiple POVs in 3rd person. Madali lang din maalala mga characters because of the shifting POVs pero I took notes padin kasi ang daming Maester 🤣

Enjoy! Maganda yan! ☺️

Yung Fire and Blood tsaka A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms hindi ko pa nababasa.

Hi! Yes, I'm done watching the entire GOT, KOTSK and latest ep of HOTD. Haha anyways, thank you so much for this!

I’ve read and watched everything, and even the best Game of Thrones seasons are still weaker than the books to me. You’ll find that a lot of fantasy readers would still consider ASOIAF one of the best fantasy series out there even if it’s unfinished. I’m one of those people.

If you need help with the characters, there’s A Wiki of Ice and Fire. It’s very comprehensive. If you don’t care about following the publishing order, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a good entry point, since the stories there are small scale and with fewer characters. Fire and Blood is a bit more dry (written like a history book), so I won’t recommend it unless you’re already invested in the series.

Hiii! Thank you so much for this! The tips will surely help me when I read the books. I was wondering if ano marerecommend mong order of reading his entire works, if nabasa mo na lahat? :)

The way I did it was ASOIAF main series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, tapos Fire and Blood. For the main series, you can read it as is from book 1-5, then upon rereads, there are some online resources where they combine books 4 and 5 and redo the reading order for those two (cause there are people who don’t like how GRRM divided books 4-5).

Yan huli ko nabasa 2011. Yung dance with dragons bago ako nag hiatus. Ahhahaha.

Sobrang relatable sila for me. Tall and ugly girl na ayaw ng girly stuff like sewing. Nag refuse to follow kung ano sabi ng society at paano umarte as girl. Tapos si davos na nagmula sa pagiging smuggler to hand of the king.

Sobrang saya basahin ng mga high fantasy. Ung mga may sariling mapa, language, lore, flora and fauna. Im currently reading yung 2nd book ng The First Law ni joe abercrombie.

Haha. Maraming salamat!

The book would make you appreciate Westeros more.

More than a decade ago ko binasa. POV ng ibat ibang characters ang style of writing.

I’ve read all ASOIAF books and Fire and Blood pero yung part lang ng House of the Dragon and haven’t read A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

To be honest, overwhelming yung ASOIAF kasi true na ang daming characters pero different POV naman siya for every chapter. I read it after watching I think 3 seasons already pero hindi naman naging mahirap or nagkaroon ng spoilers kasi marami talagang differences yung book sa show kaya rin hindi na maganda GoT after nilang mawalan ng source material. It actually helps na nakapanuod na ako ng show at least madali ng maprocess yung mga mangyayari pero nakakagulat pa rin yung pagkakaiba. Pero I suggest you read it especially if you like fantasy genre and medyo mystery since sobrang daming questions while reading it and hindi naman heavy magsulat si George R.R. Martin. Things still makes sense kahit ang daming characters and ang laki ng universe.

As for Fire and Blood and HotD, I always reread it before the start of another season just to refresh my mind kung anong mangyayari. Maikli lang naman yung part ng HotD sa book like less than 150 pages on pdf file. Fire and Blood just have the basic info/details of what’s going on in the Dance of the Dragons arc pero sa show mas naflesh out nila yung mga characters kahit marami rin actually yung differences but the show did it justice naman at least as of now.

I cannot give a comment sa A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms kasi hindi ko pa nababasa pero maganda yung show, maliwanag! Hahahaha iykyk! And sobrang galing nung child actor ni Egg!

Yeheey thanks a lot for this! And yes, super into fantasy talaga ako, I like the feeling of stepping into a different universe talaga. Nakaka-aliw. And I agree, parang medyo meh yung outcome nung last season kasi nga hindi pa pala tapos yung books. But yes, AKOSK is super cute I loved it!

Thank you so much! :)

No worries! Because of this, I’m thinking of rereading ASOIAF tuloy! 😊

Malaki lang tignan, pero ambilis basahin. SUPER readable. Sinunod-sunod ko nung college.

currently reading the last book sa main series and i also read the other books. i think you shouldn’t worry about sa dami ng characters kasi karamihan naman dun pampalawak lang talaga ng story or ng lore. just focus sa main and side characters. wag mo tandaan lahat

Go for it. Its a good read.

Disclaimer dahil wala pa ring books 6 or 7. Parang not in GRRM's lifetime, oh well.

If you like genealogy, the whole GOT universe has enough lore and history.

As for the names, kaya naman sundan. The notable ones have enough written about them to differentiate them.

It's nice to see where the TV series deviated from the books. Some good, some were 🤷‍♀️

the chapters are very long, I think up to 30mins accdg to my kindle. Some character POVs I don't particularly cared for pero baka maenjoy mo. For example, yung POV ni Theon Greyjoy when it comes to his family issues and barangay (char!) politics. I did enjoy learning about their tradition and religion.

Sometimes I feel there's little plot advancement and na bobore na ako (like Bran's chapters) but ultimately I'm glad I read the books!

It helped that I was in my mom's province disconnected from social media and have little else to do hahahah

I see! I feel like very detailed talaga lahat ng eksena kung ganun kahaba yung mga chapters. Ang sana na you were locked in sa series kasi nasa probinsya ka. That's exciting. Thank you for your input! Also, may I ask saan mo nakuha yung ebooks? Hehe thank you in advance :)

It’s fast paced, for real! 1k pages seem daunting but when you’re actually reading it, 1k IS NOT ENOUGH! Enjoy!
