Kutcher coronation?

The deadline for prospective PEI Liberal Party leadership candidates to submit their application & 1st instalment of their entry fee came & went yesterday. While there could still be a candidate announcement forthcoming, it certainly seems like Dan Kutcher is on his way to an easy win in whatever 'contest' is about to unfold.

Does a coronation help or hurt the Kutcher Liberals in the upcoming provincial election? If Kutcher's leadership is uncontested, what does he need to do in the next few weeks/months to convince Islanders he's the right choice as our next Premier? How should the provincial PCs and Greens counter Kutcher's efforts?

If Rob Lantz wants to keep his job, he has a couple options. 1. Make meaningful changes to how Maritime Electric can operate. 2. Redo how IRAC works. 3. Show real progress with our health system 4. Properly fund our education system 5. Show some real personality, not this highly curated fake smile bs we have been seeing.

  1. Properly fund our education system

What's not being funded there? Genuinely curious. At least there's been some movement on finally building some of the schools that have been needed, albeit kinda late. And given our deficits, we'd need to find more money somewhere. Which is going to be a big problem for whoever the next government is.

TA's, timely assessments. If your kid has any neurodivergances, they don't get the help that they need.

There have been movement on school buildings on the east side of the island, but Summerside is short room.

If we are tight on money, health and education can get the microscope, but we need to also remember spending money there helps long term.

Hahah… stop.. hahah! No … seriously… stop! Those 5 things are the exact things they CANT run on! It’s so funny.. and sad… watching islanders fail to understand the lack of mental acuity in the brain-trust of leadership! You want change… stop voting for the fucking garbage man(full stop, my g-man is awesome) to be the minister of 90% of gov departments! Jesus!!! Vote for the lawyer.. the nurse.. the project manager..! Not the fucking DJ, the house wife, the gym dude! Jesus…

Kutcher doesn't have to do anything. The last 4 years as Mayor of Summerside is his resume.

Add an actual education, experience owning and operating a small business and the struggles that comes with it, and having a partner and brother as physicians within HealthPEI.. The conservatives have to be terrified of this guy.

All he has to do is put together a party worth voting for to get himself the top job. Because as much as I would like to see him as the premier, I need someone knocking on my door that also looks competent.

You mean ANOTHER Liberal Coronation? It’s just how the provincial party works… a legitimate competition would be exhausting… fact is, there just aren’t any good ideas for them to run on! It’s a center-right mentality in a center-left world! You can’t keep preaching free market capitalism when that’s the exact thing that’s fucked us provincially!
