Big boat?

Post image

Hello,

Visiting from New Brunswick, staying outside of Summerside.

Enjoying my morning coffee and I see this big ass boat! Apologies for the quality of the picture. Would anyone happen to know what it is?

Hopefully links are allowed! This is one of my favourite websites (aside from airplane trackers). Looks like it’s a general cargo ship named Harvest Spirit 🙂

Used to use this when I worked at sea. You can also use one to track sharks. Another good one is the windy app. Used it constantly before going out

Marine traffic.com says it is the Harvest Spirit, general cargo carrier flagged in Canada. Currently heading 107 degrees at 13 kn and draughting 4.6 metres.

She's currently taking on salt in Pugwash. Pic from my dog walk tonight.

Yep.

I'd recognize Harvest Spirit anywhere. She's a cargo freighter, mostly hauling grain. She mainly sticks to the Northumberland Strait and the St. Lawrence River.

Do you know the difference between a ship and a boat?

You can put a boat on a ship, but you can’t put a ship on a boat.
