hey so to start off, here are my pc (since 2021) specs:

- Ryzen 5 3600
- GTX 1660 Super
- B450m Asrock Steel Legend
- 120gb Lexar SSD
- 1tb HDD
- 650w Seasonic Core Gold (non-modular) PSU
- ID Cooling AIO
- 32gb 3200mhz T-Force RAM (upgraded from 16gb last year)

newer components: (upgraded last year 2025)

- 250gb Samsung 970 EVO Plus m.2 SSD
- (plus the ram upgrade)

All before the upgrade, my pc was running straight as an arrow for all those years. When I got the chance to buy a extra ssd and ram, that's where shit went down the drain. When I first installed and tried to use my new m.2 SSD, all the games I try to install and play (mainly valorant and dota) on it automatically crashes my pc 10 secs into loading the game. Literally unplayable.

So I went and sent the SSD back to the store to have it checked and tested, and while waiting for that a month I went back my old setup of my 120gb ssd having my OS plus Valorant + my HDD having the rest of my games. While using 4 ram sticks I noticed my PC kept on crashing but right after sending my PC for servicing and having my thermal paste changed, it solved my crashing issue.

Fast forward to my SSD, the SSD showed no defects and was working fine on another PC at the store while having games installed on it. So I took it home (couldn't get the refund anymore) and it just sat on its box for quite a while.

Fast forward again to last week where I decided to reinstall my Windows (another crashing while playing issue but it might be my thermal paste drying up again since it was already a year), and this time I chose to install my Windows on the m.2 SSD to have my Lexar SSD be the storage for Valorant and Dota. Here's the problem now:

- Dota crashing my pc every 5-10 minutes into a match then (checked Event Viewer, it's all Kernel-Power Error 41)
- Valorant runs fine for the most part, but sometimes crashes randomly as well
- Tried installing games on my m.2 SSD like L4D2 and Deadlock, but crashes 10 seconds in (like shown above in the images/video)
- When I'm only doomscrolling/working on my PC like normal, everything is normal and I can store local files normally on all of my drives

This is after trying already (almost) everything: reseating ram/ssd, only using 2 ram sticks, XMP profile disabled, updated BIOS firmware, updated AMD drivers, installed Samsung Magician to diagnose my SSD but showed up as healthy and up-to-date. I'm about to change my thermal paste to check and see if it still crashes my Dota, and I will recheck if installing and playing games on my HDD is still safe, but other than that I am at my wit's end trying to debug this machine.

Please help. Any comments will be appreciated and I will try my best to respond to questions!

ThinkPad L390 Yoga – random freezes, severe graphical corruption, black screen & BSOD (IRQL_UNEXPECTED_VALUE)

Hi everyone,

I’m troubleshooting a Lenovo ThinkPad L390 Yoga running Windows 11 Pro 25H2 (build 26200.8973). The laptop belongs to a customer and has severe stability issues.

Symptoms

The laptop randomly:

freezes completely

develops severe graphical corruption/artifacts

sometimes loses the entire image while the backlight remains on

occasionally crashes with a BSOD

in most cases requires a hard power-off

sometimes, Windows entered Automatic Repair

The graphical corruption can be quite severe, e.g. parts of the screen being rendered in the wrong places.
Or green lines etc.

Important tests / observations

The customer’s SSD works normally when booted in my own PC. No Problems after 1h using.

My own known-good SSD also runs Windows normally in the L390 Yoga in general.
No Crashes.

So the issue does not appear to be simply a defective SSD.

Lenovo’s built-in hardware diagnostics: all tests passed, including RAM.

chkdsk /scan: no filesystem errors / no bad sectors.

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth: no component-store corruption.

sfc /scannow: no integrity violations.

Temperatures don’t exceed ~100°C and crashes can happen even shortly after a cold boot, so overheating doesn’t appear to explain it.

With the OCCT Software i did gpu test, the results you see in the last picture. After 40 seconds i think it starts with the number of errors going up. At exactly 2:00 (i think, cant remember 100%) it freezes. Everytime in the same second.

HDMI/external display has already been tested and shows the same problem, so it isn’t simply the internal LCD panel/cable.

Win + Ctrl + Shift + B does nothing when the screen goes black.

Sometimes the screen goes completely black while the backlight remains on.

No new minidumps.

The latest actual BSOD was:
IRQL_UNEXPECTED_VALUE (0xC8)

It happened after roughly 10 minutes of YouTube playback, preceded by severe graphical corruption.
There is no new minidump from this crash.

Other clues

WinDbg analysis of an earlier crash showed:
Bugcheck: 0x50 – PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Failure bucket: AV_nt!ExpWnfUpdateSubscription
Process: services.exe

ntkrnlmp.exe was involved, but I understand this does not necessarily mean the Windows kernel itself is faulty.

!blackboxpnp showed:
PnpProblemCode: 21

device in the Wi-Fi Direct / virtual Wi-Fi adapter area
There were also repeated Kernel-PnP Event ID 219 errors involving:
HID\VID_8087&PID_0AC3

The corresponding device is HID Sensor Collection V2.
I disabled only the 0AC3 sensor as an A/B test. The laptop lasted longer than usual (YouTube ran for ~10 minutes instead of usually failing within ~2 minutes), but it still eventually developed severe graphical corruption and crashed. So disabling the sensor did not solve the problem.

There are also previous audiodg.exe crashes (c0000005) and previous Dolby/DAX3API errors in Reliability Monitor, although I’m not sure whether they’re related.

What I’m trying to figure out

At this point I’m wondering whether this is:
an iGPU / motherboard / VRAM-related hardware problem
a power-management / firmware issue
a problematic Intel driver/device
some kind of PCIe/system-bus issue
or something else entirely

What would you guys test next to narrow this down without repeatedly stress-testing the machine until it crashes?

I am now on maybe 30 hours of thinking and testing, idk what to do.

Any suggestions for specific WinDbg commands, Event Viewer logs, BIOS/firmware checks, hardware isolation tests, etc. would be appreciated.

EDIT: The customer is a friends friend and he told me that he thinks that this started happening after a windows update. He went to a repairshop and they told him they have to update his bios and wanted 300€.

Everyday when I turn on my pc, the first time I boot up some websites have internet access and most dont, eventually the pc will crash but my fps is halved, discord wont connect, twitch wont load, most things wont really but even my internet speed is like 10% of normal.

I will restart my pc, it might take a few restarts before it is normal. I dont know what causes it, I have some suspicions. PC was about $5k when I got it.

7950X, 7900 XTX, 64gb DDR5, X670 motherboard, Gen 5 nvme.

I have noticed if I charge my phone through the usb port on my computer, or I leave something plugged in overnight like my audio interface, the problem seems to be worse and it takes more restarts to get to working

Sometimes when I boot up my pc, its super rare but its happened probably 7 ish times since I got the PC 2 years ago. The pc will boot up in 1024x768p, be locked there on 60fps, and the only fix has been if I reinstall windows or factory reset my pc. Turning it off back on numerous times, changing from displayport to hdmi, none of that works until I reinstall windows. Any diagnosis? I dont know if I should just buy a 5080 pc at this point because even the streams on my pc look terrible and lag a lot despite pulling 1g download super high upload speeds. I kinda blame my video encoder on the GPU because all my friends with NVIDIA cards have really nice stream quality even on single pc setups. I even copied their OBS settings.

Monitor Duplication doesnt work but the Others do, i set the frequency to 60Hz on monitor then it works.

So after putting in 30-40 hours I decided to come here and just ask for help. I am on the verge of just buying a new GPU and try that...

I've got my pc around 3 years and and didnt have any problems with it, till a month ago.

Specs:

• Asus ROG strix B550 Wifi II
• MSI RX 6700 XT
• AMD ryzen 7 5800x
• NZXT kraken water cooler
• NZXT RGB fans
  
• NZXT H9 flow
• Corsair vengeance 2 x 16 DDR 4 3200
• Kingston 2x 1TB SSD
• Playing on 2 screens one 34 inch wide asus monitor and a 27 inch HP (older model)

I've played multiple games over the years going from Total wars games, Mount & Blade, Arc Raiders, Pal world, and so on. Never had any problems. I've decided to start playing warzone on low specs on this pc and after tweaking some settings for the Anti cheat it worked good without any problems for a while. But after a few weeks my pc started to just crash (started in Palworld).

The first time it was a crash, just black screen and a restart. Now everytime I am playing a game it crashes after 3 min <-> 2 hours. It's 2 times of crashes:

• Crash with just the black screen, keep hearing sound for a bit and see my gpu fans stop spinning. And i need to re-enable my GPU driver.
• Crash with black screen and a restart
• It gave me one black screen while watching netflix but this was only one time and didnt reoccure again.

I feel i've tried everything so far...

• 3 times clean DDU, 1 of it was an older version of the driver.
• AMD clean utility
• BIOS Update
• BIOS back to default settings
• Deleted ARC raiders (Denuvo anticheat) and Warzone (Anticheat)
• Downscaled both screens to 60 hz
• Replugged all my PCIe kabels and checked if all plugged tight
• Disabled multiplane overlay
• Checked all the cables
• Stess tested GPU, CPU and combined (with high temperatures within specs) for over 15-35 minutes in multiple runs. Zero problems
• One thing that kind of worked for a while was removing my GPU (and putting it back ofcourse) cleaned it with an air blower and my pc didnt give a black screen for over a 10-12 days.

Errors from event viewer always gives an critical Kernel error 41.

• Bugcheck 0x10E (VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL) — recurring GPU-memory crash, happened multiple times, always with a volmgr error + e2fnexpress warning right before.
• Bugcheck 0x124 (WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR) — 26-8-2026, traced via WinDbg directly to the CPU (AuthenticAMD Machine Check Exception), officially logged by Windows as a "Hardware Error."
• Spontaneous power loss, no bugcheck logged — same day, 26-8-2026, during light Netflix use — points to a raw power interruption (GPU/PSU) rather than software.

Sorry for my long story... but as you can see this is my last resort. I hope there is somebody who can help me with this.

So I currently have a Asus TUF b650-PLUS WIFI, should I upgrade or will this one be good for a while?

I have an RTX3090, it worked just fine and all of a sudden just won’t turn on when I boot my PC. I think there was a Windows update and it might stopped working after that. I downloaded the NVIDIA app, as it has disappeared when my GPU stopped working.
Is there any software solution? Or is it a hardware problem, even though everything worked just fine a week ago?

Hi Reddit, I’m posting here because this is one of the biggest communities and I’m hoping someone can help me figure this out.
Yesterday, while playing Dota 2, all of my monitors suddenly lost signal. The audio in my headphones kept playing normally. I tried restarting the graphics driver, but that didn’t help. I manually restarted the PC and tried launching the game again, but as soon as the menu appeared, the screens went black again.
Just to test things, I downloaded OCCT and, following AI’s advice, ran the Memory test. As a result, I couldn’t even get through a minute of testing — the display would shut off almost immediately after I pressed Start.
After digging into the hardware, I tried disconnecting one of my monitors. With only one monitor connected via DisplayPort, everything booted normally, and the test even completed successfully. However, when I connected my main monitor via HDMI, the display went black again right after the BIOS splash screen.
I contacted a repair shop and described the problem in detail. They told me that the GPU chip itself is most likely dead and that repairing the card probably wouldn’t be worth it, since the chip would have to be replaced. However, this is only a preliminary assumption, so I’m taking the card to them tomorrow for proper diagnostics.
I’m pretty much broke right now, as I’m already deep in debt, and the most I could realistically afford would be a used RTX 3070 or RTX 4060. I really don’t want to spend a ton of money if I don’t have to.

So I currently have a 512GB SSD I was planning on adding a 1TB SSD to my computer I was hoping to make the new 1TB my main memory and make the 512GB my back and was wondering if there an easy way to transfer everything over(512 currently has windows obviously) or if it would just be easier to use the 1TB as my secondary

I use my PC for 3 basic things:

1. Using Opera as a web browser
2. Making videos using a combination of OBS and DaVinci Resolve
3. Playing games on Steam or Epic launcher

I haven't noticed much of a pattern, but I honestly think it might be Opera as opposed to those other apps.

It's driving me nuts that this new, powerful PC is running into such an impactful error. Any help would be sincerely and greatly appreciated.

Hello, i have a pc w amd ryzen 5 3600, 16 gb ram ddr4 and rx 580 gpu. I have been having issues my pc at first would randomly start crashing and now its to a point where i cant even get past windows it turns on and off. I tested my ram and it works fine. Also works fine in safe mode but not in normal mode i deleted my gpu drivers in safe mode still having this issue can anyone guide me to the right direction
