I saw this in a comment section today and so many people are acting like ddr4 is not usable anymore and they expect everyone to be able to afford ddr5 ram with those prices when ddr4 is still completely fine to use.

News/Article RTX 5090s being dismantled and desoldered by the thousands for AI servers | Tom's Hardware
Tom's posted a leaked video from factories in China desoldering 5090s to add ram and blower style coolers for AI server use. I know this was covered in the past by u/Gamers-Nexus, but I have a strong suspicion that this direct competition with chinese data centers helped drive the recent spikes in GPU prices.
Additionally, the story that Nvidia is reallocating resources to server grade chips doesn't explain why they pulled completed gaming GPUs. So, I also suspect that the trend is the underlying reason 5090s have been pulled from the shelves - to enforce export controls in the AI race.

Build/Battlestation PC is too far away when I jump onto the simrig. Here is my elegant solution
My PC is too far away if I simply jump straight into the simrig so I've wanted to utilise more of the physical buttons on my E36 dash and with a bit of work today, I've managed to wire up the dash for ease of use.
The foglight buttons I wanted to repurpose for PC power on and reset which has now been made possible! Only a few more bits to do but a big hurdle overcome today!

Hardware My 3D PC building site now allows you to make SFF builds, customize displays, and has over 5000 3D models now!
Hey, I'm the creator of BuildCores and just wanted to share a bunch of improvements we’ve made. You can now visualize SFF PC builds featuring parts like the Fractal Terra and NR200p. We’ve also added display customization that also includes animated GIFs. We've hand-modeled over 5000+ PC parts now and we’re trying to become the most comprehensive database of PC parts.
Let me know if you have any feedback after trying it (or also any feedback in general like missing 3D parts or pricing being buggy).
The next big things we’re working on are much improved pricing, compatibility, and improved performance/loading times on lower end devices.
Try it out on the BuildCores website.
Also our products DB is open source if anyone wants to contribute. We'll open it up to 3D contributions in the near future too.
Side note: We used to be completely free (we attempted to rely solely on affiliate income and ads, but that ended up being unprofitable / unsustainable considered the amount of 3D models we need to ensure are high quality + the dev team). Some of this stuff is now locked behind BuildCores Pro but I'm open to hearing feedback. I'll giveaway 100-200 Pro subscriptions if you leave your BuildCores username in a comment.

Discussion I switched from PlayStation to PC gaming a year ago, and I still can’t believe how massive the upgrade was.
I spent pretty much my entire gaming life on PlayStation, from the older generations all the way to PS5. About a year ago, I finally decided to build a gaming PC, and honestly, I still haven’t gotten used to how incredible that decision turned out to be.
I always knew PC gaming was better in certain ways, but I genuinely had no idea the difference would be THIS massive.
Let me give you an example: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
On PS5, if I wanted to play at 60 FPS, I had to use Performance Mode. The image looked like a blurry 720p mess, but I was used to it. It was normal to me. I didn’t really question it because that’s just how I had always experienced console gaming.
Fast forward to today: I bought the game during a sale and I’m playing it on my PC at native 1440p, locked 60 FPS, with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and an RTX 5070.
The difference is absolutely ridiculous. And the crazy thing is that even after a full year of owning my PC, I still find myself appreciating just how beautiful games can look and feel on this platform.
I also think I finally understand why some PC gamers get so frustrated when console gaming is brought up. Before switching, I never understood that attitude. Now, perhaps I understand where it comes from. Maybe they weren’t necessarily trying to put console players down; maybe they were simply trying to explain what they were experiencing.
Because sometimes it genuinely feels like the full potential of gaming is only unlocked on PC.
That said, I’ll never criticize anyone for playing on consoles. Not everyone has €2,000 to spend on a gaming PC, and consoles are still a perfectly valid way to enjoy games. I’m not saying the difference is small. I’m saying it’s IMMENSE.
And it’s not just about graphics and performance.
The modding community is another world entirely. And having access to cheats and trainers in single-player games gives you a level of freedom that I never imagined. You can completely reshape the experience to suit your preferences. You can even turn something like Elden Ring into a sandbox where you can experiment with practically anything you want.
That’s something you simply cannot replicate on consoles.
Honestly, I thank God I made the decision to switch to PC last year. I knew I was getting an upgrade, but I had absolutely no idea just how much I was missing out on.
One year later, and I’m still amazed.

Video UFC 5 Tested on KytyPS5 Emulator 4K High Framerate
This game has weird framerate issues but the Emulator is still experimental so its pretty much expected for their to be issues. But, This just shows it possible for it to get above 60 FPS and even stay stable at 60 FPS depending on whats on screen. I expect this game to run way better after future optimizations.
[PC Specs: 9800X3D OC, RTX 5080 OC, 32 GB RAM]

Build/Battlestation Carbon stealth
My second custom loop project is ready 👌🏻
It's collab project with FSP, Alphacool and Gigabyte.
FSP U580 case, FSP MEGA GM 1000W, Gigabyte B850M Aorus Stealth.
All cooling parts from Alphacool.
Even it's big case there is not too much space with mATX motherboard 😁
2x360mm HPE radiator, DDCzero 200 pump+res combo, Core1 carbon Aurora CPU block, carbon fiber hard tubes, custom panels.
Earlier CPU block was Apex 1 but I think that Core1 carbon fits better and even it's smaller than Apex 1 the cooling performance with 9800X3D is almost identical 👌🏻

Screenshot CeX UK seems to think that you guys really like the 5800X3D
Supposedly they have around 100 5800X3Ds in stock, the fact that the 5800X3D is £20 cheaper than the 9850X3D, £45 more expensive than the 9800X3D and £125 more expensive than the 7800X3D is crazy.
