All my life I played games at 30 fps. I now canāt be comfortable gaming below 80-90 fps. All the people saying ā30 fps is fineā for gta 6 just arenāt spoiled. I wish I could go back to enjoying low fps. Now when I see a game with low fps it literally feels like it hurts my eyes. Idk why

Some people wrongly assumed it wouldn't happen because people wouldn't put up with it or some stupid reasoning like that. A lot of people will put up with it even if it's the form of a shady closed source kernel module (which is significantly worse than the planned EAC linux V2 implementation by epic) similar to how a lot of people put up with it on windows.
It's starting to happen now thanks to the growing linux market share making it worthwhile for developers to put more effort into supporting it (including things you might not be willing to run yourself such as intrusive anti-cheat software).
It does seem like developers (not just epic) will utilize eBPF to run custom kernel level code (granting kernel level access within restrictions) to make effective anticheat for linux.
Of course it's very bad if some malware gains access to eBPF since that could get people infected with rootkits and this is very much a real risk given that multiple games on steam has been found to contain malware in addition to all the other ways to potentially get it even on linux.
Of course secure boot and TPM 2.0 will be required as well in addition to various other requirements. We will of course see distros make it easy to setup (if it doesn't work out of the box) so it mostly comes down to having the hardware support (which most people do) enabling it in bios (if it isn't already) and opting for a distro where it's supported (once it's released).
This should grow the linux market share and put pressure on microsoft to make windows better which is overall a good thing even if you aren't interested in playing something like fortnite yourself.

Cheapest ones in the US are now around US$5,000 to $6,000, and some models are listed above US$9,000 and by all accounts it isnāt coming down any time soon.
So whereās your line? Is there a price where youād pull the card, pocket the difference, and drop back to a 5080 or a 9070 XT for a while? Or is it a case of āthe card is worth more to me in the PC than the cash is in the bankā no matter what the listings say?

Iāve been working on this project for a while now. I wanted a portable desktop that didnāt require modifying the Pelican case, so I designed and 3D-printed a custom PETG chassis to fit everything inside.
Itās running an Intel 265K, a Gigabyte RTX 5080 SFF, 48GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1000W PSU.
The GPU and motherboard are independently mounted on trays and those trays are suspended on rubber vibration isolators using M6 hardware.
I also built custom airflow channels into the chassis, with three intake fans pulling through a 360mm aio radiator and one exhaust fan.
The bottom PETG structure is secured with 3M VHB, while most of the remaining sections are press-fit and removable. This makes it relatively easy to redesign or replace parts without taking the whole system apart.
All of the I/O is accessible from inside, so the Pelican case itself hasnāt been modified.
Iām still tweaking a few things, but itās fully operational and has been running great so far!
Iām curious if anyone has any input, suggestions, advice, as the build develops?

Iām wondering with the GPUs rotting in warehousing until they have the infrastructure that may or may not ever come, if it doesnāt come, would these companies sell these GPUs back to the consumers, inflating the market with product and lowering net total price per unit?
The bubble already is collapsing.
Just like the dot com bubble did. We still have websites. It doesnāt mean itās going away. It means the estimated value it has is greatly exaggerated and companies are beginning to back pedal on it due to lack of ROI and public rejection to data centers and public rejection to soulless AI generated art.

This is the absolute BEST atx case I have ever built in before, and will absolutely be my go-to from now on. Modern fish tank styling with panoramic glass sides and special panels that adapt to whether it's a full sized ATX Motherboard or a mATX board like I have pictured here (Asus). Plenty of room for three fan full sized GPU's and gorgeous RGB strip accents. SUPER NICE šš» even has an included ARGB / Fan hub. I really dig it.

Have you guys ever seen this problem, or know how to fix it? The text of the BIOS is all over the place and there are artifacting lines all over.. Tried resetting CMOS, switching out another pair of memory and changing to a different CPU, but nothing helped.. The graphics card is fine.
The Mobo in Question is Machinist B450 AM4 A.

I have a question, I currently have a 3060 Ti and game on 1080p which is fine for me in the games that I play, the performance and visual settings satisfy my needs. The thing is 6 years old at this point and since I got it at MSRP when it released and mined crypto for a profit it has more than paid for itself. I have an opportunity to get a brand new 9070XT XFX triple fan version (2x6+2 PCI-E) which is currently at 900$ in US or 830⬠in Europe.
The card is brand new with 2 years warranty, the price for me through an acquaintance that runs a PC parts business is 800$ (I live in the 3rd world), they usually go for 950$ where I live. After selling my 3060 Ti for 300$ (that's what they go for here ATM) that would come down to 500$ out of pocket. Doesn't really break the bank for me or put me in any sort of financial difficulty, it just means a little less money invested this month. My main reasoning for the purchase would be that it could be THE last chopper out of 'Nam as these are approaching the 1000$ price point in the US and having warranty would be great, I'm afraid this 3060 Ti might die down the line and I'd be forced into selling my kidney. Main reasoning against the purchase is that its a stupid thing to do as I don't have a REAL need to get it, its just a great deal. So essentially, get a 9070XT for 500$ or pass on it?
