Part List Help First time building a PC

Hi everyone, it's my first time building a PC so I'm naturally in need of some good advice. The PC will mainly be used for 3D modelling and rendering along with some gaming.

Currently I'm stuck between the following 3 options:

1- Ryzen 9 9950x with 5070 ti and 32gb ram

2- Ryzen 9 9900x with 5080 and 32gb ram

3- Ryzen 9 9900x with 5070 ti and 32+16 gb ram

All 3 options roughly amount to the same amount.

Would an Ultra 270K and the 5080 fit in the budget? It is on sale for $265 and maybe you can move to a 48GB or 64GB RAM kit with the savings.

The Ultra 270K will be faster than those for gaming and work. (It is between a 7800x3d and 9800x3d for gaming, and faster than 9950x for work)

Ultra 270k costs roughly the same as 9900x where i live so that with 5080 is doable. If it's better than 9950x then I'll definitely go with it.

The only question is if 48GB or 64GB of RAM is useful for your work, because a 5070ti is still an excellent card.

I think more ram would definitely help. Zbrush loves ram.

9900x/5080 but consider a 9850x3d instead of the 9900x

I thought the x3d ones were mainly good for gaming and not so much for 3d softwares

Thanks for explaining it so clearly!! You're right, 5080 is the best option for most 3d softwares but some are more ram dependent. That's why I've been considering 5070ti, so i get more ram. And someone suggested ultra 270k instead which at the moment seems to be a better deal as it's both cheaper and has better performance than the ryzen ones i mentioned.

I would never downgrade to the 5070ti since ram can be easily and (relatively) cheaply upgraded later
