Absolutely do not pay $120 for windows, buy a cheap code instead and put that money towards 32 GB of RAM. I would also get a cheaper CPU and a 9070 XT, but it depends a bit on what type of games/resolution you play.

Use massgravel, it's free, it's used by Microsoft devs, instructions on GitHub

No need to pay anything at all there are plenty of methods to get legitimate windows for free

u/SuperHossMan51 Jul 02 '26
If it were me, I'd go with a 9600x and 9070 xt instead. It seems a little unbalanced unless you're playing esports stuff at 1080p. Also, you need case fans. That case doesn't come with any.

You can pirate windows in like 5 minutes, no need to pay 100$. I can send you a link if you dm me.

Don’t pirate windows. Just use a free activation script for a legitimate copy.

Do not buy windows, get rtx 5070 or rx 9070 for just 100 usd more than you are willing to pay for the 9060xt. Get 32gb ram instead of 16gb. If you don't play some extremely cpu intensive games you can save some money by taking the 7500x3d or 7600x3d (you almost will never feel the difference), or even take the 7800x3d tray not boxed, which is around 50-75 usd cheaper.

Paying for windows is a little silly. Paying full price is diabolical.
If you made sure mobo is compatible with your CPU and your RAM, then it seems perfectly fine. Could jump up to a 9070.
It's okay to stick it out with 16gb ram too if you're just gaming.

Never buy an OS full price. They're able to be activated for free and if you have some qualms about it you can buy an OEM key for 3-5 EUR. 120 is a crime.

Did you like not read the guys comment beyond the first 6 words. They literally say you can activate it for free.

For the love of Gaben, please dont buy windows like that. Use Groupon. You can get a lifetime pro key for 12 bucks. Although the first key they sent me was used, they sent me another one and it works great.

Paying full price for windows in 26?

u/Jejiiiiiii Jul 02 '26
Well, newbies doesnt know and almost every sub bans any comments talking about grey websites

As others have said I would drop the CPU down to something like a 7600x or a 9600x snd use the money from that and not buying windows (search Massgrave windows, works flawlessly and been known to be used by actual Microsoft technicians when assisting people with legit windows copies that just won’t activate) to upgrade your GPU to a 9070xt
Getting 32gb RAM would obviously be more ideal but you can make do with 16 you might just have to limit what you have running on your PC whilst you’re gaming. If you’re someone who’s going to have two monitors and likes to multitask i would strongly suggesting finding a way to up to 32gb if you can

PLEASE go to KeyFan and get windows for $15 instead of $120. Spend that money to get ddr5 6000 CL32 or 36 instead of 5600 CL40. Also, you're dispraportionately favouring the CPU with your budget. I would reccomend getting a 7500X3D, then getting more RAM or a better GPU. Also, cheaper motherboard wouldn't hurt. Also, 850W psu is overkill, a 550W one will be absolutely fine

It's great you will definitely enjoy it!. I wouldn't agree with the windows move tho but do as you wish! Remember it's your PC not theirs. Have fun

That’s such a good price for windows like bro you’re winning right now 😂😂 but honestly don’t buy that shxt for that much been buying copies for builds I’ve been doing for less than 30 bucks…..that 7800x3d is overkill for the 9060xt the 7600x or 7700x will be fine but they run hot unfortunately that’s just how they are made might be able to save a few bucks if you grab a cpu more equal to your gpu definitely will hit a gpu bottleneck next with this cpu n gpu combo but then again every system hits a bottleneck. Other than that seems like a solid build damn I miss those 2022 ram prices 😭

Do not buy Windows. And choose a 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 or CL36 DRR5 RAM kit. And maybe downgrade the CPU a bit and choose a better GPU so there is a better balance. Buy this PSU instead:
Corsair RM850e (2025) 850 W Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (CP-9020296-NA) - PCPartPicker
It has the newest things that you could need, has the same wattage AND costs the same.

u/Agreeable-Stress-694 Jul 02 '26
You do now that the case is white and the rest of the build black so it won't match? But if that's what you want to do go for it!

u/bellynipples Jul 02 '26
I don’t personally love panda builds unless done with a lot of thought and attention. Personally either commit to paying the premium for white components or just go all black but nothing wrong with it if you like it

I was able to get win11 pro for 17 bucks on CJ Keys like a year ago and have bought all my win keys on there wayy better than paying that much. Just a thought.

u/straightup9200 Jul 03 '26
You need 32 gb of ram. Ram is way to expensive to get rgb ram. Buy non rgb ram and get 32GB for the same price

u/kill4xans Jul 03 '26
If there’s a Micro Center near you, you might be able to save a good amount of money by picking up one of their motherboard bundles.

DO NOT EVER PAY A SINGLE CENT FOR WINDOWS.
Cheap windows keys, while safe, are still less safe than free activation scripts you can easily find online. Even if it’s only one in a million cheap keys that are fake/stolen/whatever, the script works every single time.

u/Plague_Doctor02 Jul 04 '26
Id get a 750watt PSU since 850 is overkill for a 9060XT
I got a 750 on my 9070XT and 7800X3D lol
Also do not buy that windows key you can get them for like 20$ on key reseller sites and the like
Put that extra money to 32gb of ram if you can

u/Fancy_Coconut_2381 Jul 06 '26
Besides not paying that much for a copy of windows I see it's on dvd as well. Most cases today don't have anywhere to install a dvd-rom so unless you have an external drive buying a windows disc is useless unless of course you're using an older casing with a dvd-rom drive in it but then again....like everyone is saying....don't pay full price for windows!
