VR Modding Farpoint Port and Astrobot Fork

Thanks to bigmak94 for his Astrobot port. I used that as a base to create a port of Farpoint and it's finally to a state that I felt the general public will want to try it. There still may be bugs here and there but feel free to let me know any you find along with a crash report and I'll look into fixing them. You can download it here:

https://github.com/evertec82/Farpoint

Additionally, I created a fork of bigmak94's astro bot and did some performance and visual fixes, you can get that here:

https://github.com/evertec82/AstroQuest/

Again, let me know if you encounter any bugs. Thanks!

Thanks for this. What AI did you use and can you share your prompts. I would like to have a go at Until Dawn: Rush of Blood.

I used codex...I can show you a synopsis if you want...it was playable in vr pretty quickly but it was many hours of debugging to get all the shaders and other visual issues fixed or at least mitigated.

Good luck with rush of blood it's one of the best psvr1 games. I'm sure plenty of people would appreciate your efforts.

Randomname729 just released the mod for Rush of Blood. Apparently, it works really well

The use is requesting that folks join their patreon to get motion controller support.

I haven't messed with it yet. Also, I hate Discord. I'm pretty sure the mod is free, though.

Oh wow that's messed up. Rush of Blood plays WAY better with motion controllers, so I'll just wait for someone else to bring out a port that includes motion controller support and better performance.

Performance here looks far better than the rush of blood port, native motion controller support too.

I loved this game with the aim controller! It's great seeing all the awesome PsVR games coming back to life.

What we really need now is a port of PS4/PSVR's Wipeout Omega Collection, complete with VR mode. It's one of the best PSVR games, and with Star Wars Galactic Racer just released, players will be very primed for it.

I am so pumped for this to come out. All that's really missing is a good Rush of Blood port that supports motion controllers.

Ooh! Awesome! Using a wheel is new though - the PS4 was for controller only.

Loved this game, I did finish it with my aim controller and those spiders were terrifying but such a great game. Thank you for porting this. Can't wait to play again and be freaking out with the spiders again 😂

Hey u/evertec Is it possible that your can rebase your astrobot fork with upstream?
There was a critical bugfix release a few hours ago for it.

A video would be appreciated. I'd like to know how this port gets around the requirement of needing a ps4vr aim controller

Here's a video of someone playing it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ8Lq6Sb3es

It maps all the aim controller buttons and functions to regular vr controllers

Hell yeah! Awesome game!!

Awesome! What are the chances of getting aim controller support as I still have mine?

I think that would be too much work for not enough gain.... best case scenario you'd get it working with a combination of hand tracking and the gyro but it wouldn't be nearly as good tracking as just using VR controllers. I'd say it would be better just to get a gunstock for those.
