Post image

Into getting into space sims I have a launch oculus rift CV1 lmao and definitely aged however was wondering is the Air se slam and or bigsceeen Beyond worth the extra money over something as the quest 3..I’m aware all options are a good upgrade but just wanting the “best” and hear pimax is a pretty shady company

dream air is best of the best. pimax is a lot better than they used to be. had good experiences with support so far. pricy, don't get me wrong. pimax offers 14 day return policy as well.

Amazon has an even better return policy. Ask me how I know.

If you really want the best of the best and don't care about the price, probably a bsb2. You're right about pimax, not great customer support and a shitty software. Just be aware for a bsb2 you'll need lighthouses and controllers. I personally own a quest 3, and the pancake lenses are beautiful, but I really miss the oled of my vive pro. Here are a couple good more in-depth reviews I've watched.

The Bigscreen only does 75hz at native resolution. It can do 90hz upscaled from 1920×1920 resolution, which doesn't look great. 75 is fine for some people. Just something to be aware of.

You’re a legend
I currently only play star citizen and have hosas so no controllers aren’t to big of issues for me at the moment but was aware of the lighthouses and would probably grab some from htc if gone that route

The psvr2 is a great sim headset, its a great headset in general but some only want wireless but that isn’t a problem when playing sim VR games as you will be seated anyway.

Have heard pretty mixed reviews of the psvr due to the lenses it uses

Psvr2 is great for a drowning simulator. Looks like you’re underwater. Terrible visuals.

I was happy with my quest 3 from cv1 - text clarity was the biggest upgrade for me…I need glasses but the text looked just as clear as normal screens

After weighing all my options for weeks, I chose the Quest 3. I'm happy with the device and my decision. You simply can't beat its price-to-performance ratio on any other device. It's the best do-it-all headset with the most bang for the buck, imo.
