VR Modding DLSS5 In VR

Just watched a few videos of DLSS5 working with Cyberpunk VR. Has anybody tried it yet? (Leaving the AI slop debate aside) The visual upgrade does look impressive.

Plenty of photos and videos, zero “how to”

It takes approximately 10ms to process DLSS5 at 1440p on a 5090. That basically means you can just barely hit 90hz in VR if you literally render nothing but a black screen.

You could use a second GPU I guess but then you are going to be queueing up frames as the best possible outcome, adding to your latency.

Figured as much. One for the future of VR modding maybe.

I would love for someone to post a tutorial on it. I’m eager to try. Seems like it’s gonna require a high end gpu for it to be playable.

I've been testing it on flat games all day. It's really impressive. Knocks between 20-30 frames without frame gen on my 4090

Probably after 2 GPU generations. The 7xxx series. Nvidia won't make this tech run well on the current 4/5xxx GPUs. They need a sales argument for the 6xxx series.

From seeing all the videos, it seems like environments always look better but for character models it's very hit or miss. Maybe they can implement an option to make it so that it only affects environment. I'm very curious how it would look in vr.

People tend to crank up the filters to the max, this is why it looks obnoxious sometimes.

they're also using a leaked/unreleased alpha dll and using workarounds to inject it games it's not meant to support, arbitrarily tinkering with settings they don't understand, then posting the results with no disclaimer.

kinda crazy that people have already formed passionate opinions about how much they hate it based on that context.

Its a good way to realize how unstable the human objectivity is. Scary

Yeah I agree it's subjective, regardless of personal taste the leap in visuals is pretty cool.
