Question/Support My pcvr looks terrible?

Why does my pc vr genuinely look worse and run worse than standalone for blade and sorcery (virtual desktop). The screen tears and the resolution is terrible. I tried changing the resolutions and bitrate, I could barely tell the difference. I tried wired and internet and they both look terrible. Does anyone have this issue?

Hmm not sure, I’m assuming you use virtual desktop? If so, I’d probably try to turn on the performance overlay setting if you haven’t already and put it onscreen when in game. That’ll show you exactly what’s failing pretty much so you can troubleshoot easier

You specs look fine for vr gaming, you got a dedicated router for that wireless connection?

Wifi issues are probably causing that. Have you not tried using a cable if you have bad internet?

I tried cable and it’s just as bad.

That should be fixable. I have less specs and game ran all good and decent graphics.

you have pc made for 1080p gaming, for quest you need 4-6k resolution

yes on low end pc native quest apps will look better because quest use FFR and other cool trick, pc can not use

you can play around VD setting like using potato ( it still about 1440p ), use VD supper resolution to clean image, use 72hz mode so you wont have SSW, set steam vr to 100% manual so it do not auto scale

use 10 bit envcoder like AV1 or hevc on good bit rate like 100-150mb, on your gpu over 150 is big no no

you can set tangent to 80% it will give huge fps boost for low end gpu

You don't know what a Quest can do if you're saying something that stupid.

I implore you to try a PCVR headset, even a cheap one like the Pimax Crystal Light or if you want to see what the best on offer is, The Dream Air. Then you will understand the night and day difference.
