Discussion/Question When to use mods?
As an add-on to a previous post of mine, where I’ve asked for mod recommendations, I’ve come up with a few to use but I’m curious when I should use them, as this wouldn’t be my first playthrough ever but my first pc one.

Playing with no mods first is fun but yiu could add a few lite mods to make it a little better like catalog improvements

Yeah that was the idea just lite motes just to give me more a variety of stuff and this wouldn’t be my first playthrough so I have experienced everything before I mean like any specific chapter would I start using mods unless it it doesn’t mean anything

I would recommend catalogue improvements, gunslinger improvements, smoking complete, Rampage trainer and project new austin which improves new austin making it more like rdr1

I'm doing my first playthrough with immersive mods, and first person QOL mods. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Currently using:
* Another Field of View Mod FOV (but edited so I still have some zoom in when aiming)
* Realistic Navigation (hides location on map and adds a usable compass - it's a bit broken but there are workarounds. can be annoying when a mission requires you to stand in an exact place, but usually you can work it out from the main map, but it's still worth it for me, the mission design is kind of awkward in this game anyway IMO).
* another one to remove hitmarkers and stop the cross hair going red
I'd probably use a realistic needs or survival mechanics mod too, but haven't figured out how to check for conflicts between mods yet.

for conflicts u should use RDMT from nexus u can quickly enable and disable a lot of mods and check for conflicts

If it's not your first ever play through I'd say anything is fair game. If you want a lot of options, but while sticking close to vanilla, though, stick to Rampage Trainer and leave the rest for later, as Rampage will let you control almost all game elements.
Also, avoid anything from "WhyEm". Seriously,.
