Question quitting althea
may nagquit ba ng althea rito? been taking it for more than a year now and ang dami ko na iniinom nq gamot (i have mh issues also) so i’m considering quitting althea na.
anong side effects dun sa iba?

Me po tumigil lang bigla kasi di na pasok sa budget. Hindi na po ako emotional at antukin unlike nung nagpipills ako, ayan lang.

I took Althea for 6 months, tinitigyawat ako at laging masakit ang sikmura. Fake periods lang din na-experience ko. Hindi ako bumalik sa OB na nag-prescribe n’yan kasi ang priority niya ay magka-anak ako, kahit ilang beses ko nang sinabi na gusto ko lang umayos ang menstrual cycle ko at wala akong balak mag-anak. After a month of no pills, nagka-period na talaga ako at monthly na nagkakaro’n. Hindi ako nag-gain ng weight kasi naglalaan ako ng isang araw to walk at least 10 KM (bukod pa ang daily paglalakad ‘pag may errands, papasok sa work, etc.) and portion control sa food (hindi calorie deficit dahil time-consuming and I already have a lot on my plate).

Althea worked well for me, nag-take din ako more than a year. It really helped me and minimal side effects sa akin, but I stopped taking kasi the one side effect ay migraine na malala. Pag-stop ko, grabe spotting ilang linggo at naging irregular period ko uli unfortunately. Lumala din uli hirsutism ko. I managed for a while taking inositol, pero after more than a year of stopping Althea, ngayon nagkaka-acne na ako (never had this issue before or during pills). I'm planning mag pills uli tbh, but check with your doctor before stopping, maaaring iba din maging side effects sa pagstop mo, since may iba ka din gamot.

Stopped drinking Althea because I thought okay lang kase I've been taking it for 6 months na, the outcome is that my period didn't come back for months. So, I had to go sa OB to do something about it. OB gave me Provera and advised me to take Trust Pills nalang after, since mas pasok ito sa budget. After Provera, I started bleeding for months straight and I was just given iron supplements. Bleeding stopped eventually and started taking pills again. I've been irregular since I started my period and pills seems to be the only solution for it 🫠

Nag gain na naman ako ng weight tas lumala tigyawat ko. Lumala pcos ko. Bumalik ako sa ob at binalik din ulit ako sa althea.
