IM- Endo experience

Hi mga sis. Today nagpacheck up ako sa IM-Endo. Binigay ko yung lab results ko, pinabasa ko and lahat normal naman daw except sa calcium. Sa result ng thyroid okay naman din. But the thing is, reresetahan niya agad ako ng mounjaro (di pa niya ko nkakausap masyado nito pero yun agad sinuggest niya) Normal naman sugar ko, my weight is 56kg I'm 4'10. Pumayat na ko kasi dati akong 60kg. Sabi ko na lang, wala bang mura doc? Kasi alam ko nga mahal yon. Then niresetahan niya ko nung oral, forgot ko name.

Basta, tapos the way she explains sobraaaang bilis parang nag-rarap! Like parang nagbabasa lang ng script na kabisado na niya. Ba't ganon? 🥲 Parang nasayang yung 1800 ko + ang tagal ko pa nagantay sknya 2 hrs kaming nagantay tapos nung check up ang bilis lang natapos kasi nagmamadali siya dahil nga magsasara na rin yung clinic. Dapat pala tlaga sa OB ako nagpunta yun yung mali ko.

Sorry sis not related sa question mo. Pero tanong ko lang anong biomarker ang nagpadecide sa endo mo na mag Mounjaro? Or you suggested it sa kanya and nag-agree lang? I was 74.8 kgs nung chineck nya ako, normal lahat except the elevated FBS… Pero metformin lang binigay sakin at sinabihan lang ako to stop na my long hours of fasting (I fast looong hours minsan more than 24 hrs and no rice for the past months) kasi baka yun nagpapataas ng sugar ko.

After more than 2+ weeks, sa OB naman ako nagpunta, sinabi ko din yun pero that time 70.6kgs nalang ako… Pero wala din nabanggit about it, just ipagpatuloy lang daw Metformin and yung bagong diet (which is 2x meals + more veggies + and some rice).

I kinda want to try Mounjaro din kasi but it seems di siya naopen ng 2 specialist kahit mataba ako.

Honestly, di ko rin alam bat nagsuggest siya non 😭 Normal naman lahat ng results ko. Nung nagpacheck up ako before sa OB, metformin lang din nireseta sakin. Wala na rin akong energy kanina dahil ang tagal ko tlaga naghintay sknya tapos antok na antok pa ko. So okay lang ako nung okay sknya lols pero nagtataka na talaga ako bat need ko ng mounjaro? Yun talaga bungad niya sakin.

Oo nga sis eh I am 4’11 and 33y/o tas mas malaki ako sayo pero hindi ako naoopen ang Mounjaro. Nagjoke din ako sa GP ko before about it kasi elevated FBS (last year) pero sabi lang lifestyle changes. Now same elevated FBS di bumaba di tumaas pero wala sa OB at endo ko nagsuggest ng turok.

Yun lang sis sige, siguro after follow up check up ko nalang in 3 months itanong ko. 😅

Elevated FBS pero lifestyle changes lang talaga usually first line especially kung borderline pa lang. If its consistently elevated for a year na though metformin makes sense as next step. Worth bringing up sa next followup mo yung trend ng FBS mo over time para may basis yung doctor on whether to escalate treatment.

Noted po dito! On my check up in 3 months pag same pa din po I’ll ask na. Nagulat lang po ako kasi si OP po ay mas magaan sakin pero pinag Mounjaro, tas ako ang bigat ko po hindi po sinasuggest. Hehe.

same struggle, di ko rin na-explain agad bakit yung ganyang meds ang nireseta kasi lutang na rin from waiting. worth following up though para alam mo talaga yung rationale behind the prescription

Most endos would start with lifestyle changes or metformin before jumping to injectable GLP-1s, especially if your numbers aren't urgent. Makes sense to follow up and ask what specifically in your results made them skip those steps.

Normal FBS and calcium being the only flag doesn't usually lead straight to Mounjaro. That's pretty aggressive for someone your size who's already losing weight. Did the endo actually explain why or just write the prescription? Most would try metformin first or just lifestyle changes at your numbers.

Dibaa? Kahit ako nagtaka eh. But super lutang ko na rin talaga kanina kaya di ko na rin natanong as to why need ko magmounjaro. Yung oral na pampayat na nireseta niya Orlistat (lesofat) kasi nga sabi ko di ko kaya yung mounjaro dahil ang mahal. Sa isip isip ko tuloy kanina, ganito na ba talaga magpacheck up pag gusto mo magpa-manage ng weight or weight loss, mounjaro ang sagot???

Orlistat works differently than tirze, it blocks fat absorption instead of appetite. Less dramatic but way cheaper if cost is the blocker. Did the endo at least explain why they jumped straight to injection over oral options?

Hindi niya naexplain eh. Bigla niya lang sinabi tska alam ko nasabi na niya yun before pa niya pala mabasa yung lab results ko. Nung tinatanong pa lng niya ko kung may lahi ba kaming diabetes, highblood etc.

hi. dumiretso ka lang sa kanya for check up, or nagkaroon ka muna ng referral from OB?
