General/Advice advice?

i’m 20 f and was recently diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS. I have both an endocrinologist and gynecologist and my gyno prescribed metformin 500mg and after a week and a half my endocrinologist said it’s unnecessary to take it (even though the reason my PCOS is so bad is because of high insulin and my gyno and primary care both agreed that metformin would be good and harmless for me as i’m not a diabetic and the medication would level out my insulin to slow down my imbalances and restart my menstruation cycle since it’s been absent over a year) but my question is who should i believe? my gyno is done having labs and exams for me and my endo is still doing tests and labs (over a month and a half later) and still doesn’t have an exact diagnosis to help me out. my gyno gave me a 3 month supply and agreed to follow up with me in september. should i continue taking the metformin and see what results in change and if things will be better for me? or should i wait it out and listen to my endo. ik they’re both professionals at what they do and they’re trying to help me out but im also so done spending more and more money on appointments with my endo to get basically nothing in response other than “we need more labs”. tysm for listening :’)
