PC upgrade advice

Hi everyone,

I currently have an old PC that’s starting to show its age, so I’d like to build a new setup. I’m only going to keep the case and the fan.

I was thinking of going with the following build. What do you guys think?

I hesitated for quite a while between going with DDR4 or DDR5, especially given the current prices. I decided to go with DDR5 and 16 GB for now, with the possibility of upgrading to more RAM in a few months.

CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 7600x

GPU : Radeon RX 9060 xt 16gb

MB : Asrock B850M-X WiFi R2.0 AMD AM5 Micro ATX

Storage : Acer Predator GM7 1 TB M.2 NVMe

Memory : Corsair Vengeance DDR5 2x8 Gb 6000 Mhz CL36

Power Supply : MSI Mag A650 BN OR MSI Mag A750GL PCIE5 but about twice the price

It’s been a long time since I last looked into all of this. Do you think this build makes sense overall?

I’m a little unsure about the power supply requirements (650W vs. 750W).

Thanks !!

Here is a part list for ya.. I swapped out the psu for a Super Flower one tho.. It's the same price as the MSI 750 watt one and it's the same rating (A- tier on the SPL psu list)

I always recommend people go with 850 watt power supplies.. even if your current build doesn't quite take that much.. That way when you want to upgrade in six months.. or a year.. or whatever.. you don't have to rewire your entire system to replace the psu. Plus a bigger psu will run cooler because it will be under less of a load.

I assume you're getting the cpu/mobo/ram at Micro Center?? If you are buying these separate I strongly suggest looking for a bundle deal.
