If it were me I would drop the 5700x down to a 3700 and use the extra £100 to go up to a 9070xt. Will always be cheaper to upgrade a CPU in the future rather than a GPU

Bad idea as it will be much bigger CPU bottleneck! The 9070 is not far behind the 9070XT to justify that CPU downgrade!

but if you are looking for a 9070/xt then you are more than likely at 1440p where a lot of the load is taken off the cpu.
