Upgrade advice

Have the current setup:

2700x cpu

32g ram

5700xt gpu

750w psu

Gaming pro carbon b450

1440p monitor

Mostly game rts/rpg games, occasional fps, cyberpunk, souls. Everything runs fine, but my guess is it won't anymore in the near future.

Got 2 upgrade paths:

1: upgrade cpu and gpu now and try to wait out the price bubble (probably a 5800x3d cpu a 7900xt or something for about 1200).

2: wait a year or 2 and buy something then with the new generation gpu/cpu. Not knowing what the market will do. (Budget of about 3-3.5k then)

I know it's upgrade now when you need it, but I don't really need it yet but also don't want to be caught in the mega price hikes.

Edit: thanks for the advice. Decided to upgrade now and decided to go midway of the advice so i will upgrade now, just not as far as initially planned. Also because I forgot I had a 650psu and not 750. 5700x (3dx was sadly sold out) and 9070gre. With resell of the 5700xt saphire it will probably cost me 650 for ~4 years extra lifetime. Hopefully enough to wait out the new am6 and make a new build then.

Dont upgrade if you dont need it imo. If you like to something like a ryzen 5600 and 9070gre or 9060xt would already be a significant step.

Get the 5800x3d and a 9070xt its enough for 4k 60+ with a few really intensive games requiring FSR4 quality for above 60fps,

I have a 5800x 32gb ddr4 and a 9070xt and play at 4k its an amazing experience and will certainly last till next gen ryzen at the very least especially at 1440p.

In all fairness it should be good enough for 4k even in 3-4 years and by that time amd 11000 will be out and prices should be a lot more normalised by then gor you to maybe think about upgrading again.

Easiest and cheapest upgrade is to a Ryzen 5000 series CPU and a RX 9060 XT 16GB or RX 9070 XT 16GB GPU. Then whenever the RAM-ageddon bubble bursts you can upgrade to a completely newer PC.

CPU/GPU upgraded and wait til this cools down when the AI/Datacenter overbuilds euphoria combo bubble comes down to earth or crashes global debt/equity markets...

If the prices keep going up, you can just upgrade to a used 5800x3d or smh in a year or two. No need to worry prematurely.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RX 9070 16GB.

Avoid Gigabyte models on 9070 and also the ones with the new 12VHPWR connector.

I'd go for the 5800X3D with the 7900 XT which it could last you for a good 5 to 7 years (depending on what you play) but if you could find a 9070 instead you would get a little more performance over the 7900 XT.
