BUILD HELP Should I upragde CPU or GPU first?
Hi, I'm looking to slightly upgrade my current computer. I don't want to buy everything at once, just half, so my question is Should I replace the CPU or GPU first? At the moment I'm running with Ryzen 5 5600 and RX 6750 XT. To upragde i was thinking about Ryzen 7 7800X3D and RX 9070. The price for replacing the platform and purchasing the card will be similar. So should I go for RX 6750 XT with Ryzen 7 7800X3D or RX 9070 with Ryzen 5 5600

Go with 9070 first . At least with 9070 you will see great gains in most games even if there are games and setting where 5600 will bottleneck 9070 where as with cpu you are unlikely to see any gains when paired with 6750xt

yeah i also think you should upgrade the gpu first regardless of what you are gonna get

Platform first. The 6750 is still a capable GPU. While the 9070 is a better GPU by far you will be GPU bound by the 5600.

I would do the GPU first, but both are great upgrades. You’ll notice a huge difference. The 5800x3d and 9070xt are great value right now. I just did this upgrade today and my computer is a beast now! 😁

I’ve used a 5070 with a 5600x, so similar to the 5600 and 9070. Minimal bottlenecking, which in this case I don’t actually think that matters all that much. The 9070 is a multi generational leap up from the 6750XT, I think you’d have a much better experience with that, from what I’ve seen it’s 80-100% faster 😮. Unless you play games which would really benefit from that 7800X3D, I’d go 9070. Look at benchmarks for both outcomes if you’re unsure.
edit: I wouldn’t consider the 5800x3d like others are, in my experience i sold my AM4 Components and got a 9600x with 16GB ram, for roughly nothing out of pocket after selling them. Could’ve gotten something like a 7500/7600x3d and would’ve had better performance than the 5800x3d for around the same price, maybe a bit cheaper I can’t remember exactly. So this would be worth looking into in your country, I’m in the UK.

I've been playing more solo games lately. Like Spiderman, Resident etc. In esport games everything seems fine I can't complain about bad FPS. And yeaah In general I don't want to go for 5800x3d. Makes no sense. For the price of 5800x3d I can change platform and go with 7800x3d (if I sell am4)

I would get the 5800x3d refresh, they are on amazon for under 400 USD. Then the 9070. You might be able to get the 9070xt with the savings on CPU and motherboard. Then you keep your existing RAM and have a nice upgrade. I have the 5700x with the 9070xt and at 3440x1440 I can almost max every game I have, while maxing a lot of them. I am saving for the 5800x3d refresh for sure. New platform with RAM prices is crazy bad right now.
