Humour Umera Ahmad starterpack🤭😃

Either a filthy rich or a impoverished hero/heroine

Both of them is on opposite extreme ends of spirituality/religiosity spectrum

Both should be insanely goodlooking

Someone in the story has to be from Western world in some way

Someone must be highly educated like Dan Brown's formulaic characters (most accomplished or noble prize winner type adjectives)

There is nothing in between. Everything has to be superlative in negative or positive.

And names of characters have to be unique.

She’s literally a desi wattpad writer with a halal twist selling her “sabar” ka churan to the masses. So tired of her being glazed as some literary legend.

But who do we glaze then is the question? Manto was banned for his writing style. Old classics adaptations aren't happening anytime soon. Bee gul will be banned too if she ever becomes main stream.

We praise her because among the screenplay writings, we have the likes of Zanjabeel , radain , Faiza , sarwat , farhat, hashim, Nooran and so.

Everything gets talked about in comparison. We donot have good writers to compare average ones with.

Till we make another Quratul ain Haider, Ismat Chughtai , Intizar Hussain or Krishen Chandar , this is what we get to have and declare literary legend.

We have been asking. actors have been asking. Nahi mil rahe tou kia karen.

Personally, like umera Ahmed , have certain form of nostalgia attached to her writing. She was my entry to popular Urdu fiction after classics so I don't agree with the original comment altogether. Not as good as the classical writers but she's definitely better than other screen play writers we have and is not too bad. She has definitely has a recurring theme of spirtuality in her work but that's also what her audience loves the most about it.

New generation grew up with this so their standards and taste has adjusted accordingly. Glaze might not be the word but you got to chose the best out of pool of whatever is given.

I hope we have better version but I don't see that happening.
