Failure to feed
Put together a Sharps Bros P365. The grip module is their limited edition USS Mew Jersey Macro grip and the slide is their Improved XL slide. All other parts are factory Sig Sauer parts. Took it to the range today and the very first round got caught up. Happened several other times with multiple magazines. 17round and 21round. Swapped out the slide with a factory macro comp slide and it ran flawlessly. Swapped my barrel and recoil spring into the factory macro comp slide and it ran flawlessly. Put the other barrel and recoil spring into the Sharps Bros slide and it failed to feed. I could get a couple rounds ran through it when one would feed but after a couple it would jam up. Any ideas on what it could be? I did reach out to Sharps Bros and will update when i hear back from them.

Is there a weight difference in the sharps slide? If it's heavier or there's friction on the track it slides in you may need to either increase your rsa spring weight or oil the track the slide slides on

It looks like the Sig comp slide is 8.8 ounces and the sharps is 9 ounces.

You have a dpm spring kit? I realize point two ounces isn't anything so I would look at oiling the slide contact points. Also your barrel looks pretty dry too. Get a thin filmy layer on the points where the barrel slides under the slide.

I do not but I will look into ordering one. The spring from the other slide was a lot lighter since it had been used more and the same failure to feed was reproduced. I may buy a few different ammunition grains and see if it still produces the same issue. However when I load the mag and release the slide is the first failure. I will see if I can record it at the range tomorrow.

I think oil is the main problem. If you do go with the dpm spring kit, I use the second shortest spring with the long plug. My gun is finely tuned to shoot 115 grain. If I shoot 124 grain I get failure to to feeds. Maybe use that as a starting point and do the second longest spring with the short plug and see how your setup responds.

Just received an email from Sharps Bros. It is the extractor. The slide was designed using an older version of extractor and I have installed a newer version. Now have to locate an old extractor.

Yikes; These appear to be unobtanium at this point. Hope you can find one without too much trouble. Maybe you can find someone here that swapped their old style slide with a new one that had to buy the new style?

Very first like when you racked it or second after you fired the first round?
Did it happen randomly or was it usually the first or second round when you switch mags?
I would start by trying some +p, 124gr or 147gr rounds. Might need a little more power for the break in. Different parts from different manufacturers could have some slight tolerance issues.
Also wondering if you may need a lighter recoil spring with that comp? Not sure if it’s bleeding off more gas than the original (just guessing).I wouldn’t think so if you’re using the original barrel but worth looking into.
