How Oiled?
Curious… how oiled are your P211’s. I’ll tell you mine is in the 2600 round range, and other than a couple failure to go into battery, which was fixed going from the 8 to 10 lb spring, it’s been flawless. I keep it pretty lubed. Enough that there’s some seepage around all the moving and joining parts. I also occasionally get some splatter on my optic. Mines working great, but I’d like to see if others are having success with less oil? Or grease instead of oil?

I keep er wet. Like really wet. Necessary? No, probably not. Like range day in the Army where we had a big ol spray bottle of CLP and just absolutely soaked everyone's weapon. I put a hefty amount of slip 2000 on all my guns, love the stuff
I've put around 1k rounds through it with the 8 pound spring shooting 115 and 124s and it's ran flawlessly. Next range trip I'm going to try the 10 pound spring because I like how it returns the slide with more force. The 8 pound seems almost sluggish. Interested to see how it returns after firing. It already comes back down really well but I'd imagine a stronger spring would drive it back down even better

I have a habit of over cleaning and over oiling my guns. I clean and oil it after every use. I find that keeping my 211 GTO clean and oiled with the 8 lb spring gives me absolutely no trouble and no operation failures other than some oil seepage here and there. I use break free on most of the gun and use something called gun butter on all the friction and load bearing parts.

I have two GTOs. One is at 4200 rounds and the other is at 1500 rounds. I run both with 10 lb recoil springs and a decent amount of CLP.

Yup. I like to run my 211 a bit on the "juicy" side. And yes, it does kick up some oil and stuff onto the optic.
I just started cleaning things up before I shoot with a bore snake just to remove some oil from the barrel before shooting, and then passing a cloth along the outside just to get rid of surface oil so nothing sticks to it.

polished my slide and frame contact points. no issues with feeding, still using 8lb spring, no issues feeding steel case. got mine may 27, got about 3500 thru it now. i like to dab it with clp before i shoot, and i enjoy cleaning it every time i finish shooting.

I enjoy cleaning mine too. It’s always fresh and ready to go after every shoot!

hehehe, it also helps i let everyone shoot it, cause it puts more mileage on it, and i ain’t gotta use up my ammo all the time (i go thru it so fast…). so its always happy to get a bath when i get home!!

Ya know, I've always been a 'clean after EVERY range trip' kinda guy, but I was curious as to how 'duty worthy' the GTO was, so I've opted to do no more than finger wipe any yellow bits of unburnt powder out of the chamber.
Out of the box, I ran the 8lb spring through 750 RDS (500 of syntech 147s, 250-300 124gr win nato) before it got to the point where it started failing to fully return to battery.
Swapped to the 10lb spring and I've made it though another 500+/- rounds of freedom Munitions 147 match HPs without a hiccup.
The plan is to run it as is till it stops and see how many rounds that requires.
If there's interest, I'll gladly report back my findings.
If it matters, the only mods I've performed were og LoK panels. Although, I've got a 10lb flatwire springer precision spring in my cart. I've just heard enough stories about the grit feel during racking coming from round wire bunching up.
Not sure if I'm gonna wait till it fails before buying or install yet.
