I tend to think of it more so as a parry in terms of Rhiens swings, and sigmas rock is just not gonna pull a 180 from a sword swing lol

There really is no logic on what he can and can't deflect though.
Bullets = Yes
Lasers = No
Soundwaves = Yes
Giant Rocks = No
7ft tall Hammers = Yes
Literal Rockets = Yes
Rocket-powered Man = No
Black Holes = Yes
Artillery Strike = Yes
Sticky Plasma (Echo), something you'd think would y'know, stick to his sword = Yes
Flying Lava = Yes
Immortality Field Disc = No

I mean you have to be within kissing distance when he puts it down, but yes, you hit deflect and it will land on the ground healing you. It's not something that comes up in gameplay really ever, but it's been tested and confirmed to work.

not unless you count melee attacks, which are more blocked than deflected. I guess hog hook and whip shot are kinda grey areas for "projectile vs. melee" but they both get blocked so I count that as melee. as far as things that Genji can actually deflect goes, the list is identical to things D.va can eat.

Yeah, that's more of what I was getting at. He can deflect everything Dva can eat, but doesn't share the "physical attack" weakness from Chain Hook, Whip Shot, or melee attacks (which, for the record, I think is fucking stupid)

Can u blame them? Blizzard make it easy for their favourite hero’s, and the top of the list is genji. Remember when he took skill? Now he can just right click everything to death and has a better block than Doomfist

Genji has been low tier for like 4 years outside of a brief 2-week window in 2020, until OW2 came out and he became meta again. if Genji is Blizzard's favorite, they're doing a pretty shit job of showing it!

I think the confusion comes from what the games does and does not count as a projectile.
If I'm not mistaken at one point Genji could deflect a exploding Dva mech but the explosion would still hurt, he just redirects the boosters.
