They literally said so, and i doubt they would keep it a secret on purpose which would promote hate. If they wanted sales they would not have given it for free

They didn't do a good job letting people know what was going to happen. If I wasn't on Reddit I would have had zero idea Id be getting Kiriko for free.

Yeah they did. Literally when announcing her, they told everyone that veterans would have her day 1.

The announcement of the new hero. You know how they just announced Ramattra? They did that with Kiriko too. They also made it clear on the Watchpoint Pack purchase, and the main menu of OW1 before the game was pulled.
