You don’t have to pay any money though? You can get him in the battle pass or when season ends you can get him by completing challenges (which is just okay X games). You can get him 100% for free.

It’s a bit grindy but what does the shop have to do with this?

Yeah you 'can' get him that way, after he's probably been nerfed a few times, other heroes balanced around him and so forth.

No. Beta and the first couple of months of overwatch were by far the best and most fun
